On his talk show, David Letterman took the opportunity to poke fun at Anne Hathaway about her law-breaking Italian ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri while she was there to promote her new movie Rachel Getting Married.
Asked if she ever noticed her ex pilfering money from her purse or impersonating the Pope by both Dave and band leader Paul Shaffer, the Get Smart actress squirmed uncomfortably in her chair and covered her face with her hands while laughing nervously. Unluckily for her, Steve Carell wasn't there to save her.
When Dave asked Anne if the relationship ended "before there was trouble," once again, The Devil Wears Prada star asserted that she and Follieri were finished as a couple before she became aware of any legal entanglements.
