Amidst millions of voices crying in protest from retirement communities across the nation, 82-year old vaudevillian Cloris Leachman was ousted from Dancing with the Stars last night. This might mean the DWTS curse has been lifted.
Leachman had many haters up in arms (reportedly some of her fellow contestants as well) for her staying power despite a marginal talent for dance and antics that made it seem like Nana had forgotten to take her pill week after week.
But there's no need to face your television to the wall. Despite her exit from the competition, Leachman told hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris that "You know, I'm not leaving," to frenzied applause. Ed Asner and Mary Tyler Moore must have been in the audience.
"I'm going to get a pretty costume and be here next week. I'm going to sit right over there," the majestic Cloris said, motioning to the audience.
ABC needs to take note, and give this American icon her own show. Quickly, before she's found wandering the freeway in a slip.

I'm SO glad Chloris is off the show. I like her, but I thought she was exploited for the show -- and frankly, I think Corky Ballas pretty much molested her weekly just for the laughs. Half the time she was swatting him off of her. It made me very uncomfotable to watch them each week. And I agree that several other dancers already voted off were better than her. It's Dancing with the Stars -- not Laughing with the Stars. Circus of the Stars is more for her.

I guess the curse is almost lifted, but not quite yet. Lacey, Lance's partner, has also now been diagnosed with a tragic illness. Luckily, hers can be treated with medicine and rest.......BUT,I want to see her get her groove on!!! Is everyone on this show going to be injured in some strange way?? Who knows... but I can't wait to find out!
