It was a charity reading of a play, but Joaquin seemed to be somewhat bored.
"Other actors were performing scenes and readings, but Phoenix just got up and walked out," a source says. "He wobbled back in a bit later, but it was odd. He was slurring his words and was unsteady on his feet."
Then he showed up for the AFI's premire of Che on Saturday with "BYE" and "GOOD" written on opposing fists and looking like Vincent Gallo on a Sunday morning. And insisting he really is quitting the movie game to navel gaze, stay high or what have you.
"I think it's just moving on. It's rediscovering something else," said Joaquin.
"It's like greener pastures, you know what I mean?" he says. "And so, I'm just going to try and like, I'll just be doing the other thing. ... Hopefully, I will emotionally impact you with that, as well."
Something seems to have impacted him, if you know what we're getting at.Photo Credit: Pacific Coast News | WENN | Bauer Griffin Online
