American Idol season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino performed at the memorial for the slain members of Jennifer Hudson's family in
Chicago yesterday. Fantasia sang a gospel song called "Your Grace and
Mercy", and reportedly sang directly to Jennifer and grasped her hand
at one point as she walked down the aisle.
"I think it healed Jennifer's soul just then," a family friend stated, according to TMZ.
Celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah, and Clive Davis were reportedly in attendance.
The Reverend Jesse Jackson and Chicago mayor Richard Daley also spoke at the service. The bodies of Jennifer's mother Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King were transported by horse-drawn carriage to the cemetery after the service.

jennifer & julia life for the both of you is forever changed . I lost my brother to cancer, my father to drinking, my mother to the fact of losing father & brother. In an eighteen months spand. If is wasn't for the fact i new the name jesus i couldn't have made it. I give God the glory and praise everyday for carrying me thru such a dark period in my life. I have my good days i have my bad days so will you both. Nobody but God at this time can hold you and touch that spot in your physical body that needs so desperately to be healed. please tell me there wasn't a red carpet at the funeral..or was that pic of fantasia old? i would lose all respect for any celebrity by posing for pictures on a day like that. i really hope i'm being dumb and that's just an old pic of her.
