Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman's movie Australia, which had its world premiere today is getting good, but not fantastic reviews from homeland news outlets.
The Envelope gathered a number of reviews from Australian papers and the general consensus is that both Nicole, Hugh and the sweeping backdrop of the Australian countryside are visually stunning, the movie falls short of the high expectations put upon it to become an instant classic.
Criticized as being too long and overly theatrical, the movie is still being heralded as a solid one, with the performances from Jackman and possibly soon-to-be retiring Kidman receiving praise and is predicted to do well at the box office.
