'Twilight' World Premiere...It's Finally Happened

The Hot Topic autograph signing sessions, the sneak peek trailers, the red carpet photocalls--it's all led up to this. Twilight has finally premiered with its young stars on the red carpet, with their hair all twisted up into fashionable waves atop their head.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart looked the picture-perfect couple, the most subtle of smiles on their faces lest they accidentally look too excited.

Taylor Lautner
, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Cam Gigandet, Elizabeth Reaser and other costars all made it to the Mann Village Bruin Theaters in Westwood, California, their respective fangs perfectly concealed underneath fancy clothing and friendly smiles.

Am I the only one who thinks that Kristen looks like a mess...

Let the negative movie reviews commence in 3... 2... 1...

She looks fine to me, in fact, she looks great! What a face! He looks like a scrubbed up Robert Smith in that pic which isn't too shabby either!

Buffy Summers, Bella Swann, teenager in love with a vampire, could someone say plagiarism. If not, no originality at all.

^ It's Eragon all over again, but then again what do you expect from a sad Mormon house wife?

*will stop now*

haha that's so funny, there's my freaking journal, well it was an autograph book last night haha <333333333333333 its the black book with greeen in the middle lol

she looks like lisa marie presley.

Sure it's similar to a lot of other vampire stories but when you think about it Harry Potter wasn't that original either. It basically copied off Lord of the Rings with all it's magic and crap. Now the Harry Potter series are some books that made you loose brain cells. If you're so worried about wasting your time and loosing brain sells anyway then what are you doing on here reading about celebrity gossip. I on the other hand am here because I actually enjoy reading about them. A girl needs to read something easy going for a change.

Nicky, it's apparent that you have lost way too many brain cells. If one can suggest that Harry Potter is a copy of Lord of the Rings, it proves that you are a moron as well. Yes, the vampire genre has been around for awhile however, Meyers didn't do anything to add to the allure of it. Unlike Ann Rice, who's vampires were imbued with eroticism, or Joss Whedon who created the high school girl in love with a a vampire scenario. All this meyers chic has done is borrow heavily from both Anne Rice and Joss Whedon.

LOTR and HP are as different as apples and oranges. Plus, the Potter books were written for children. The first few were for 9-11 year olds. Meyers lame ass books are supposed to be for young adults. You should stick to reading gossip sites its about all you can handle.

I have to disagree. There are many similarities between Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. If you read both the books carefully you would see this too. Harry Potter has a scar on his head just like the scar on Frodo's shoulder given to him by the witch king. Lord of the Rings has the ring that makes anyone who wears it invisible. Harry Potter has the cloak that makes anyone who wears it invisible. Both have dark winged steeds, Thestrals from Harry Potter and fell beasts of the Nazgul in Lord of the Rings. They both have groups of wizards that fight evil, Order of the Phoenix in Harry Potter and Istari in Lord of the Rings. Humans who transform in to animals, Animagi in Harry Potter and Beorings in Lord of the Rings. Wizened old wizard, Dumbledore in Harry Potter and Gandalf in Lord of the Rings. I could go on with this but you get my point. There are a lot of similarities even though the stories have different kinds of characters. I guess there are a lot of books out there that get ideas from each other.

I take it back that Harry Potter makes you loose brain cells. I think that J K Rowling had a better imagination then Stephanie Meyer. I do agree the Stephanie Meyers books about vampires are no were near as good as Anne Rice's portrayal and I only really enjoyed reading the first book in the Twilight series but I wouldn't say I lost brain cells after reading them. They were in enjoyable in a way.

I'll stick to reading my books as well as reading my gossip sites.

I have actually researched a little more and found that even Lord of the Rings found some of their characters from the Brothers Grimm tales and Brother Grimm actually got there tales from going around Germany and asking the old town folk stories. If you actually read Brothers Grimm you will see the similarities in their stories to a lot of fantasy stories that have been written since.

Oh and one of the most similar attributes to both stories is Voldemort from Harry Potter and Sauron from Lord of the Rings are two Dark Lords trying to attempt their return to power who placed part of their soul in a ring.

Hahahahahaha 'meyer is a hack', (if that is your real name) I think Nicky has thoroughly proven you wrong. Maybe you should bore other people with your uninformed opinions.
