reasons". Surprisingly, these reasons did not include the giant wedding
cake sitting just behind the altar.

I admit there's not much to this story, but I'm a sucker for a good quote. This one is like a puzzle, and the fun lies in trying to put it together so that it makes sense.

I think what Britters is trying to say is that she was 'in love with the idea of being in love', rather than experiencing the real deal. We already knew this anyway, what with that 24-hour Vegas marriage of hers.
