90210 ingenue Shenae Grimes is denying reports that her twig-like body stems from an eating disorder.
"Nobody has asked me about it. I really can't help what someone thinks of me because they are reading a paper and choosing to believe it," Grimes says. It could be the smoking.
Shenae plays the supposed Brenda Walsh archetype of 2008, Annie, on the CW's sort of hit series (with nary the style, panache or whining ability of Shannen Doherty), and as soon as the series hit the airwaves, press began on how the female leads (Grimes, AnnaLynne McCord, and Jessica Szohr) looked like they needed to eat a steak & cheese sub or six.
"Meet me in person, and you can't say anything. No bones sticking out," she says. "Just because people are calling you skinny doesn't mean I'm like, 'Yay!' No! You're telling me I don't look right. This is me, this is my body - I have accepted it."
Here is Grimes on the set of 90210 in Los Angeles. As for next season on 90210? Jason Priestly (who played uptight Boy Scout Brandon on the original) is coming on board as a director and someone on the cast (it appears as though it's either going to be Annie or that hot druggy chick Arianna) is going to be face a teen pregnancy.
