For those of you who have been on a mountaintop in Nepal or a research installation in the Arctic and the cable's down, Britney Spears is currently on a publicity blitz like no other. Good Morning America gave her their entire show today to celebrate her 27th birthday and the release of her new album, Circus.
Britney performed two songs from the disc - "Womanizer" and "Circus," and generally wowed the NYC crowd (made up of tons of screaming fans) with her performances which took place in an actual circus. It never fails to amuse when hardened newswoman Diane Sawyer has to celebrate pop music like she's totally into it and has the Pussycat Dolls playing in her Lincoln town car.
Britney also received pre-taped birthday greetings from Hugh Jackman, Reese Witherspoon (you know that was done at gunpoint,) and Taylor Swift. Spears seemed genuinely stunned by all the hubbub. Maybe she didn't think this comeback deal would actually take. Get back on the horse and ride, girl!

It seems to be a statement on our Congress and how they've caged Americans and robbed and killed us. That's the real circus act.
