The rumor that Anna Wintour is planning to step down from her long-time position as All-Powerful Queen of Vogue is getting more mileage now that there are rumblings that her replacement will be none other than French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld.
The change in power is set to take place shortly after ringing in the New Year, according to Gawker. The site reports that the head of Condé Nast Si Newhouse left early for his holiday vacation in Vienna in order to meet with Roitfeld in Paris.
The site also notes that given the current state of the economy, Wintour might have difficulty finding her next gig given that she makes $2 million for her current duties at Vogue.
Hmm, might not be a bad time for her to start putting those notes together for her tell-all. It's about time we heard the devil's side of the story.

God, I hope this is true. Roitfeld is one of the most stylish women in the world. With her at the helm "Vogue" will stop being a pitt stop for all of the garden gnomes in Hollywood who have the movie of the month. If I get one more issue with Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Sarah Jessica Parker, or that queen of botox Nicole Kidman I will cancel my supscription.
