Kevin Federline looked around, saw that the world is experiencing the rebirth of the artist known as Britney Spears and obviously doesn't want to be remembered as just a footnote in his ex-wife's life. He spoke to People for this week's issue about what being married to her was like.
Federline, who fathered two children with Brit, says that it was his focus on them that led to the dissolution of their marriage. Here he is picking them up from school in LA in Oct.
"It's hard enough to be in a marriage, and then have a kid, then kids, it changes everything. For me, I'd become more concerned with my children. Not that I ignored Britney, but my kids are always most important ... I mean, we were having complications. I didn't give her an ultimatum, but I was trying to work stuff out with her, and she didn't even talk to me or anything and went behind my back and filed [for divorce]. [I was] completely blindsided," he says.
Oh, and how did he feel when Britney was speaking in a British accent, wielding an umbrella like a machete, and was generally living on an entirely different plane of reality?
"You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her 'cause I care about her. That's the mother of my children. Just because I'm not in love with her doesn't mean that I don't love her. I'm definitely rooting for her. There's nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do."

He's opening up, because as you said, the Britney gravy train looks like its rumbling along again and he doesn't want to be left behind choking on the dust. Although to give the guy his due, he has kept these children out of cars and petrol stations and paparazzi mobs, and I believe him when he says his children are important to him. He's not against getting his palms greased for the odd interview or moment in the spotlight but then who wouldn't be really ?
He looks like he's taken up the Cheeto eating where Brit Brit left off though, he's looking rather round.

Lisa, being the girlfriend of a man whose gold-digging, cheating, lying EX-wife gets about $11,000.00 a month for child support and ALIMONY --- I couldn't agree more.
She cheated on him with his colleagues (no less), developed a drug and drinking problem, has never held a job and continues to steal from him by taking credit cards out in his name, yet SHE STILL gets that kind of money per month! Sickens me. She ought to be thrown in jail for fraud, but my boyfriend is too nice of a guy to do that because SHE has the 3 kids most of the month and they seem to be doing very well in school. So he totally lets her get away with it. The laws should be changed so that only children get financial support and statements should be sent stating what was spent on the children each month. Or if a wife or husband supported the other while going through school or something, fine... give that back. But yes, alimony can be ridiculous.

Kfed is trying to get in on the Britney comeback. She's doing amazingly and he wants some of the spotlight. I feel bad for Brit that she ever got involved with this guy. He was part of the breakdown! He does not even own up to ever being a part of her problems either! He acts like some saint who saved her children. What an ASS! Going through emotional problems is tough. Britney is coming back from all of it and Kfed does NOT need to be in the picture. Lets all let Britney be. She does not need more pressure.

Hey, he stepped up when Britt lost it. And she was really out of it. So I give Kevin props.
If he hadn't been worried for her,she may never have gotten help and at least he is not a nut case. The boys look happy.

Kevin has done a great job with his kids. The boys look happy and have been kept out of the spotlight. They NEVER looked happy with Brittany, only frightened and confused. With Kevin they have a normal family life and it shows. So give him a break. He was married to the crazy Brittany Spears for Gods sake!
Now Brittany gets her kids and kudos, too.
The boys are not happy because of her. It was the dads who stepped in.

Cute little family. I'm kind of surprised K-Fed had it in him, but hey, parents change for the better because of their kids.
His boys look happier then ever and Brittany should be thankful that they have Kevin for a dad. I hope they continue to work together to keep the boys happy and secure.

Brittany should thank her lucky stars that Kevin and her dad stepped in and took over when she went nuts. Those boys look like they are very secure and happy with their daddy. As it should be. I wish briitany well, and I hope she recognizes that Kevin stepped in when she couldn't. Way to go Kev.

He was constantly going out on her. Flying to Vegas & other cities to PARTY. He wasn't home taking care of the boys when they were married.
So him "stepping up" to take care of his own children is the LEAST he could do.

these 2 kids are just as much his responsibility as britneys. he is taking care of his kids which is what is not only expected but necessary, that doesnt make him a saint, just a father. maybe if he wouldnt have went after britney for fame and money to start with there wouldnt be an issue at all today. and for those saying he is keeping his kids from the public eye, HELLO, theyre on the front of people magazine right now. this guy would do anything for publicity, but since him and britney split no one has cared about him, its not like there is paparazzi outside his house waiting for pictures. i dont think this guy deserves any compliments. he married a famous star for money and fame, knocked her up, ran off, and had to step up to take care of his own kids when britney lost it.

Britney has always been and always be a f***ing moron. She's only putting on this show like she's getting her life together because her paycheck depends on it -- and she was in financial trouble, desperately needing to put out an album to make money because she was spending all of it!
Kevin has stayed out of the limelight and the tabloids all this time. Britney cleans up for a few months and now the PR machine goes into overdrive trying to get as many snapshots of her in public smiling and not looking crazy and doing all these appearances pretending to be "Good Britney" again. Now she wants to slam her ex-husband in public, who she just randomly decided to divorce, so he has no choice but to speak up for himself, but still doing it with class. I'm not saying he's a great guy or anything, but she's the one that's taking low shots at him.
Britney's always lacked class and still does. She'll always be a nimwit from Louisiana with no talent.
