The new director who takes on the task of filming the Twilight sequels New Moon and Eclipse will find her or himself booked for the duration of filming both movies.
Filming for the two sequels will be done back-to-back, to minimize production costs for the two films. Filming will start in March 2009 for New Moon and will bleed over into production for Eclipse.
Even though it sucks for Catherine Hardwicke that she's going to miss out on continuing to be a part of the Twilight franchise, it's probably the best thing for her sanity that she's no longer involved.
After the first installment of their blockbuster vampire series, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are already turning into such disenfranchised, surly rock stars, by the end of the third movie, there will be blood. For sure. Or at least a really messy break-up that threatens to dissolve the band.

I think they need to rush both movies. Think about it. "Edward" has to stay 17, he doesn't age. I know Rob's 22, but he's not done aging by any means right now.
And for the record, without Catherine Hardwicke, the sequels can only get better.

I agree. Robert Pattison doesn't look remotely young enough to be in high school and it's only going to get worse. At least Kristen is still a teenager. Hopefully her acting will improve with age.

I think that even though Kristen's acting isn't the best...her awkwardness kind of portrays the character fairly well...bella in the books always seemed very awkward and always just...off. so the off acting kinda...fits.
