Both are hellaciously good choices. The hopefully not actually touching Lindsay Lohan Sean Penn and his rendition of the first openly gay politician in US history have garnered rave reviews. And Pixar's tale of a tiny robot in love in a future overrun by wastefulness has been called their best film yet.
Both associations' pics are known for predicting future Oscar nominees. And both organizations seem to have agreed upon a number of picks this year.
In the acting category, both New York and Los Angeles picked Penn as Best Actor and also agreed on newcomer Sally Hawkins as Best Actress as a school-teacher in Happy-Go-Lucky.
Supporting actor nods went to Penelope Cruz by both coasts for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. NYC chose gay marriage supporter Josh Brolin as Best Supporting Actor for his role as political assassin Dan White in Milk. LA went with the late Heath Ledger for his villainous turn as The Joker in The Dark Knight.
Can't you already feel the Oscar hype?

Snow Pie says:
I've drawn the conclusion from his life, behavior, choices and appearance that he really is gay. He appears to have been in the closet the entire time. He looks way too natural in gay roles and always has come off as anti-social and gay.
Now we know.
Snow Pie says:
More often than not - 99% of the time - gays are hostile and anti-social. They want to force others to accept them and their hostile antics. They push their lustful interests in your face and demand that you notice their lustful thoughts and feelings. They only want to talk about their lust. If you don't share their interest in perverted lust then they tell you you're repressed. They don't want to talk about anything else. They would have sex with anyone as long as it's perverted and degrading. They more often than not have been sexually abused as children and this guilt makes them grow to seek the evil aspect of sex. It seems that it's only their guilt about having been degraded sexually as children that later in life they seek to degrade others sexually. That's why they force their lust on others and can't stop blabbing about their sexual acts and interests.
They are boring. Seem dangerous. Often destroy others' property if their lust goes ignored. It seems a mental illness, not a healthy action. Sex starts in the brain. Gays are psychologically damaged from sexual abuse as children. Their choice of sleeping with the same sex is a symptom of the childhood abuse.
I fail to see any proof that it's normal or health activity coming from a nice healthy person who values others' property and sensibilities. No gay has every walked away from any conversation without having first repeatedly insulted a straight person.
In a word, gays are hostile.

You know - I like Sean Penn better as Harvey Milk than Sean Penn.
