Kelly Rutherford is SO pro breast-feeding that she sees absolutely no reason to stop. Sure, most baby manuals will tell you to call it a day after the first 12-months, but Kelly sees feeding time as such a great mother-child activity that she just can't bear to ween her 2-year-old.
Kelly told
UsWeekly via
Page Six that it's an "amazing bonding experience" with her son Hermes. It's also, as luck would have it, a fantastic get-thin-quick plan.
Kelly added that she was "thinner" after her pregnancy and "a lot of it was the nursing."

Wow rude analysis of this woman's breastfeeding habits. In reality, most cultures all over the world breastfeed children until they are between the ages of three and four. This practice has gone back as long as there have been bipedal primates. Its only in the US that women do not want to be bothered with actually nourishing their children. They prefer to get them on the junk food crack (formula) asap. Learn a little something about ACTUAL child rearing practices before you comment like you know what you are talking about. Thanks!

Lots of earthy crunchy types breast feed until the kid is 2. Some go even longer if the baby doesn't seem eager for weening.
Pre-industrialization, it was common to breast feed for at least 2 years as well. So notwithstanding the wisdom enshrined in "baby manuals" (let's hope they give better directions than my DVD manual), this isn't really that new of a thing.

Er... it's only in the US that women are told to breastfeed for 12 months. The World Health Organisation recommends doing it for 2 years. Hardly college-age, geez!

Ween?
Was that intentional, or are you really that stupid?
MsMaxx says:
and your point is???? Breastfeeding until 2 or 3 is hardly NEWS. sheesh. Grow a pair! ( of breasts that is!)
Catcher says:
Yep, nowadays feeding your own child is considered weird. If you think breast-feeding is bizarre, or you can't separate your breast fetish from the actual physiological purpose of mammary glands then you need psychological help. Anyone who believes there is something wrong or sexual about breastfeeding is sick.
As already stated, the World Health Organisation recommends 2 years as a minimum and longer if the child and mother are still benefiting from it. If only more mothers took the time to nourish and bond with their children.
Nebraska Librarian says:
I like the "steak" rule. If the kid is old enough to chew steak, time to pop the tit out his mouth.

Are all of you forgetting this is a gossip blog? Who cares!!!!!! Stop taking this so seriously.....if you want to comment on breastfeeding techniques, why don't you stick to the mothering blogs.
