Tom Cruise premiered Valkyrie, the flick in which he plays a Nazi officer trying to kill Hitler, in Los Angeles last night. Hmm, attend your own but not your kid's, ok. Sources say that he entered to the red carpet through an underground tunnel at the Director's Guild of America to avoid Scientology protesters who were awaiting him in the fan area on the red carpet.
Cruise, in a black suit with a white open collared shirt, chose to just pose for photographers because who wants someone with an L. Ron Hubbard grudge hitting you with a picket sign?
Cruise, who attended the premiere and was unable to be with wife Katie Holmes on her actual 30th birthday, sent her a message of love:
"I love you sweetheart. Happy birthday! I'll find you if you leave me! Sorry about the herp!" Ok, he didn't say those last two.
Also present at the premiere were Lorielle New, Holly Palmer, Michelle Stafford, Carice van Houten, Pricilla Presley, Kelly Hu, Bryan Singer, Bree Turner, Jenna Elfman, Terrance Stamp, Kenneth Branagh and Bill Nighy. That's a motley crew. Cruise should be thrilled, though, that Phyllis from Y&R was there. She makes everything better.
