New details about the death of John Travolta's son are coming to light. Travolta is said to be heartbroken, which is obviously an understatement. Jett Travolta died after hitting his head in the bathtub.
Family attorney Mike Ossi, who is in the Bahamas with the actor, spoke to People. "He never dreamed of this - their relationship was so close. He always said 'I'm happy as long as my kids are happy.' He is heartbroken ... To bury your son is the worst thing you can ever do."
According to Ossi, 16-year-old Jett was discovered by a nanny on Friday morning around 10 a.m. After the nanny called 911, John Travolta tried in vain to resuscitate his son.
"He didn't want anything to happen to that boy, and he kept on trying to revive him," said Ossi. "He did mouth-to-mouth until they had to physically remove John to take Jett to the hospital."
According to Ossi, around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 1, John said goodnight to his son, who was tired from a long day spent on the water with his family. Jett went to his room with his nanny. "He always had a nanny by his side because he had a history of seizures," says Ossi. "John took extra precautions. [Jett] was never alone."
Mike McDermott, John's corporate counsel, adds, "John did everything in his power to revive [his son.] John and Jett had a very strong relationship. Words cannot explain how close they were. This will take a lot of time. His life will never be the same again."
It's going to be quite awhile before we get the Oprah interview on this tragic event.

jared Smythe says:
Oh please next we are going to hear that Kelly tried first but John took over... Since when do you leave a boy
a lone overnight... Having a nanny in another room..he should of been in the
same room... Wow no people in interest
in this case..
digott says:
jared Smythe - take a course in reading comprehension. "Jett was never alone". I bet you're reading and posting on related articles. So you should have discovered that the family employed two nannies for 24/7 care, a nanny did sleep in same room. While you're at it, take a course in humanity and sensitivity. Or just grow up.
Enaid says:
Jett obviously was challenged, but his family seemed to love him dearly. It's hard to deal with a 16 year-old, as big as his dad, and keep him safe while letting him be himself.
I don't know John Travolta, but I know in my gut he loved this child. My prayers go out to the family.
JanePitt says:
As cynical and jaded as I am, I refuse to believe anything other than that these parents loved and protected their child. Not every parent (Jenny McCarthy) uses their child's pain to enhance their reputation and garner attention for themselves. The Travolta's treated Jett with respect and didn't parade him around like (Jordan with Harvey) as if he was a side show freak.
TittieCaca says:
That kid was as big as two dads. And a mom. They are going to need the Jaws of Life at autopsy time just to plow through all that fat.
And digott, before you get all twisted... this is Socialite Life. Where the bitter and jealous are encouraged to be bitter and jealous by the most bitter and jealous blogger(s) on the 'net. JH spawned us, now you all have to deal with us.
Keith says:
TittieCaca you are sick, like an alcoholic, or a child molester, that thinks as long as they admit they have a problem, then it's fine to do what they want! Total Asshole!
Tracey says:
TittieCaca, I pray to God you don't have any children you heartless bastard. You couldn't pay me to be a coroner at your autopsy, I'd be to afraid of your disgusting filth rubbing off on me. I feel terrible for John and his family. And to all you parents who are doubting that his child was left unattended, I don't believe it for a second. How many 16 year olds want a nanny sleeping in the same room with them or accompanying them to the bathroom. Just because the nanny wasn't present in the bathroom when it happened doesn't mean she wasn't close.
Bella says:
I heard that he went into the bathroom at night, and was then found at 10am the next morning. If he went to bed at 5:30pm with a nanny (or two as somebody else said), don't ya think somebody should/would have noticed a little earlier? It just doesn't sound right... ?
But I am not disputing its a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to anyone who has to endure losing a loved one.
