Kevin Bacon and his wife, The Closer star Kyra Sedgwick, were among the victims of banking evil-doer Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scam, and apparently lost everything but their shirts. Whoa. Normally, you'd say - you're rich people, whatevs. But they seem like decent enough folks, so it's sad. Plus, he once gave us an intervew, so we're fans.
Bacon says that "things could be worse." It's true. You could be on a jetliner sinking to the bottom of the Hudson in freezing cold water.
"We'll march on. We have to," the actor said. "There's nothing you can do about it. You can't change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life."
Bacon didn't specify how much they lost. But it's enough that he needs to get a job. All of the investors involved lost something close to $50 billion. That must have been a hot night at the Bacon/Sedgwick house when they found out. Here they are at Stogo Ice Cream in NYC. They might want to just buy a pint of Ben & Jerry's at this juncture.
"I don't have anything lined up right now, but I need to work, for obvious reasons," he said.
First off, isn't she on one of the most successful shows on cable? Sure, it's TBS, but she needs to get paid. Ask for a raise or something. Ted Turner needs to stop paying you in snack cakes, Kyra.

I have been a Kevin fan for a long time, and give him and Kyra a lot of credit for staying married in Hollywood where divorce is an every day occurance..I think he will be okay, hes a great actor and will find work soon..

Actually, Kyra is quite successful. Her show, The Closer, on TNT is in it's 4th season and she won a Golden Globe for her performance as the wonderful, Brenda Leigh Johnson. The season finale in September drew nearly 10 million viewers, so it's definitely popular. It's my favorite show and I think she's amazing. Best of luck to her and Kevin during this difficult time.
