Michelle Obama Went To Toldeo For Her Inauguration Outfit

Share
Our new First Lady Michelle Obama is sporting this golden sparkle of a pantsuit for the historic inauguration today and it was revealed that it was created by designer Isabel Toldeo.

Toldeo is one of Michelle's favorite designers. Originally from Cuba, Toledo was raised in Hudon County, NY and works out of NYC.

As long as Michelle outshines that egomaniac Beyonce, we're happy.

What do our readers think? CNN showed the pantsuit and long coat in all of it's maize glory. Do you like it? Too sparkly? Just right? Let us know in the comments section!

UPDATE: Yeah, yeah...I know it's not a pantsuit. I looked at the pictures quick and the coat distracted me. It's a dress. Sorry, Aretha Franklin's hat totally distracted me.

It's a triumph!

A pansuit includes pants. I see no pants, I see a skirt and a jacket.

But it does look nice!

It's sparkly yet regal. She'll really pop out in the sea of black clothing on the steps of Capitol Hill. It is the right outfit.

it's not a pantsuit

It looks terrible! It doesn't fit her well. She looks slightly pregnant, it makes her hips look big and her shoes are totally wrong.

It's as bad as the red and black number she wore when he accepted the nomination.

I think it is hideous!! My parents had curtains just like that in their living room in the 70's... Just really disappointed Michele went matronly instead of modern. This outfit in no way represents a "modern " designer......YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

I to agree..its HIDEOUS! She in the public eye now, she either hires someone to dress her or learn to do way better than this!

It's definitely not a pantsuit of any kind. It is a dress and coat. The regal style is not hollywood-movie-opening glamour, it's heads-of-state glamour, and it suits her perfectly. If you want Hollywood glamour, go to Beyonce.

too much like something the Queen Mother might wear. the only thing missing is the hat. lol

i love you Michelle but this is a definite miss.

FYI, Hudson County is in New Jersey NOT New York.

I think it suits her to a T, beautiful!

Don't love it, but it's not terrible. However, it's not a pantsuit. Although a pantsuit probably would have been more appropriate for the weather.

Not great, but not awful either. It makes her look big, which isn't the goal for most women (I presume). She's no Jackie Kennedy, that's for sure. But then again, Jackie didn't graduate from an Ivy League School and become an attorney either. Give credit where credit's due.

I think it's appropriate for the occasion. She does look like she is freezing though..:-(

There was talk that she was wearing a bullet proof vest to the ceremony...that would explain why this dress might look a bit bulkier than we're used to seeing on Michelle...

It looks like upholstery fabric, and the green organza tie in the front... horrible. Horrible puke green color. She could've worn a bullet-proof vest under something prettier! I hope her Inaugural ball gown is 1million times more beautiful!

not flattering.

I couldn't believe my eyes. This was the tackiest outfit I could imagine. Olive gloves and shoes with yellow/gold tapestry! And a 3" diamond necklace. Please. A TV commentator said she looks like she is going to the ball. Hello.....

Michele and Jill both need stylists. Jill is wearing sleeve less and short sleeved dresses with either sling back pumps or boots with her bare knees showing in January. Michele is wearing rhinestones in the morning for her husband's inauguration, and an unflattering sweater over her dress at lunch. Cardigan sweaters do not flatter the face and shoulders. I like and respect both women, but it is January in Washington. It looks like summer clothes and even though they are both extremely intelligent in their own right, they are not hitting the right looks for their husband's positions worldwide.

I loved it, very unique color. Its the color of a happy face. I think everyone was happy today.

Didn't like the shoe color, are they green.

Oh my gosh, no no no. HI-DEE-US! Hideous! Gold and pukegreen? Could she have gotten anymore stereo-typical? A HUGE miss. And it doesn't even fit.

there is a way to stand out and be classy... this is NOT it! Think Jackie O! also agree about this not fitting right! she never wears anything that fits correctly! the First Lady needs some help in the fashion department... ugh the color of those gloves and shoes! i might have let this whole outfit slide with a different color gloves and shoes!

TERRIBLE color for her skin tone. And all those glitzy sprakles? She's not Cinderella and this isn't the Ball. The dress should have been tastefully elegant. She definitely needs to find a style coach and new designers. She's too young to dress like either of the Bush women, and too feminie to dress like Hillary Clinton. She needs an updated Jackie Kennedy look. There are definitely American designers that she can turn to, but obviously she doesn't know any of them.
This was a TOTAL MISS.

Since no one here has ever graced the cover or pages of Vogue Magazine (I am assuming), and they are NOT Stacy London or Clinton Kelly of "What Not To Wear," and they don't have a degree in fashion design, then I suggest they keep their comments a little more to the point. You either like it or you don't, but it's not necessary to use adjective after adjective when describing how awful you thought the dress was. Some of you would not have like anything she might have worn. She looked appropriate for her age, and the dress seemed right for the occasion. Since it will probably be donated to an upscale second hand shop (many inauguration dresses end up at one) those who did not like it (or hated it) probably will not be seeing it again. They can rest easy knowing some other woman will buy it and create a total faux pas in it. LOL! Come on people, Michelle looked great in this and in her ball gown. She is a very stylish woman!

It is OK nothing original or spetial. But this thing around neck is realy too much. First lady was better dressed before.

Is this HER BEST ?! Shocking for someone who wants to promote the fashion industry ! She has the figure of an Amazon, walks with lumberjack strides, wears a morning ensemble the color of a baby´s first pooh, and in the evening wears a ballgown with a train (!) she cant dance with and which makes her look Grandma Goes to the Prom or secondhand bridalwear from Ebay.

Why cant she just go for classic lines rather than looking ridiculous !
