Sanjaya Malakar is the contestant from the last season of American Idol who had the horsey head, and couldn't sing, yet somehow gaily grinned his way into America's heart. Well, he's lost the horsey head and replaced it with a sort of Rico Suave/drug dealer mop and written a book about his experience on Idol. It's called Dancing To The Music In My Head
and it's being released at the same time as his debut cd with the same
title. And why did Sanjaya feel that he needed to tell his story in
book form? Because he wants in on the lucrative VH-1 reality show
business. No, he felt he had a interesting story.
"I realized that I had a story that no other past contestant has said," he said.
What that story is consists of the revelation that you have to audition three times before you even make it in front of Paula, Simon, Yo Dog, and the new gal. Also, Simon Cowell's mean. Rarely has such deeply investigative reporting seen it to the page.
"His job is to really just tell exactly what he thinks," Malakar said about Simon. "Whether that's brutal or not."

asolutely,this book is worth the purchase,it is fun reading and an insight into the idol phenomena. Sanjaya is really a cut above most.He is brilant and gutsy, and talented. This unique kid saved that darn show,and warmed our hearts with his sincerity,and melodic voice.

The only people who would still mock this boy,are the out of touch and uninformed. Mocking Sanjaya is passe'. He is quickly becoming a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry. I had an opportunity to meet Sanjaya. I can't relate to your comment Theomomma. Sanjaya is an all American kid with a great attitude,clean ethics and even with all his stylish icon looks...very clean cut. He is a refreshing answer to the new entertainers,not the old druggie hard rock acts and looks from the past.Our family adored Sanjaya 's singing,and entertainment on that show ,Am Idol. He is the only reason we watched.
