Clooney took park in a screening and discussion of his film Good Night And Good Luck at the Newseum in Washington DC yesterday. And his dad, former journalist and current American University professor Nick Clooney was the moderator!
Clooney and his son (who is going to make a return appearance on ER) discussed journalism's role in our society today for the elder Clooney's students, and also focused on the Red Scare of the 1950s and famed reporter Edward R. Murrow's fight to expose Senator Joseph McCarthy as a witch-hunting psychopath. It's the main topic of Clooney's 2005 film.
The senior Clooney uses the film as a teaching tool with his students and said it's important that they learn from it. Clooney Jr. fixed his cufflinks and said he didn't care for that revelation.
"Never cared for this kid! His sister's great," Dad Clooney joked. He also told his students that "you will get precisely the news you deserve if you accept mediocrity."
