Rosie O'Donnell opened the Maravel Arts Center in NYC on Monday.
It's a performing arts school for specially selected kids, and it's
named for Rosie's old math teacher. That's all well and good but the
real story here is that Rosie won't be providing the world with those informational haikus on her website anymore.

Ok, that totally wasn't a haiku but neither were hers!
"When I started to blog, no one knew what a blog was," O'Donnell said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for her school. "Then it got so commonplace, it was kind of being used on entertainment shows as edited pieces. I was like, 'It's not worth it.' It wasn't providing the joy that it used to."
Yes, Rosie is saying she invented blogging. Al Gore is pissed. Nice lady, but she's missing a couple of breadsticks in the basket if you ask us. Why does it feel like this is the kind of school where something bad is going to happen?

She was not saying that she invented it or even popularized it. She's saying that she started doing it (it was called "formerly rosie" on blogspot at first) at a time when "blog" wasn't a word non-techies knew. And popcorn culture reactions like this one make me understand why she's stopped doing it.
