Both actresses glowed in their white gowns, and were joined by cancer research co-chairs Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw, as well as Jay-Z and Beyonce - who belted out some "Sasha Fierce" tunes for the party.
But considering the event was supposed to be about, well, cancer,
Gwyneth's acceptance speech seemed a little odd. The Oscar-winning
actress likened herself to a "housewife"
and then self-consciously announced (guess she's been reading the rumors?) that her hubby Chris Martin's
absence was due to "being in Japan" for Coldplay business.
Whoa Gywn, put away the excuse book. David Arquette couldn't make it either!

When I accept awards I like to self-consciously reference my spouse's absence too, so I feel like I really understand where duckfaced stickgirl is coming from.
Did anyone bother to find out if, you know, Chris was actually in Japan. Because that would put a pretty interesting and sexy spin on this whole brouhaha in a Perrier bottle, right.

I'm no fashionista...but Rita - all you had in the closet was that bridesmaid's dress from the '90's? You usually look bangin'!
