Tonight it was made clear: nothing will intimidate Mickey Rourke into good manners.
Looking like a white knight in his fitted tux and pointy dress shoes, the Wrestler star offered his signature pants-grabbing pose while strutting the red carpet at the 81st Annual Academy Awards.
And despite the recent death in his family, Mickey seemed happy over last night's Independent Spirit win and the anticipation of learning whether he'll bag that "Best Actor" Oscar Nomination tonight. Then again, maybe it was just dressing up that put a hop in his step. Good fashion will do that to a guy.

when i woke up this morning-- monday, post academy awards-- my very first thought was, "i hope mickey rourke won that oscar." (outside of the US at the moment & no tv.) dashed to my computer to check online and was very disappointed to see he hadn't. he won my heart with his performance in that wrestler movie. unforgettable, some of the best work i've ever seen. i hope a lot more comes his way that is just as high-calibur and that he is recognized again and again. we love you mickey. take care.
