Her weekly email newsletter Goop (which translates loosely to mean "How to be as fabulous as I think that I am") caught Gwyneth Paltrow some flack.
The timing of the launch of Goop initially had skeptics wondering if Paltrow's insight into diet, shopping and exercise would fit in the current economic climate. And now, a New York Times article blasts the site, citing a total lack of relevance by saying, "many critics find the enterprise fatuous and a bit puzzling."
Little Gwynnie doesn't understand the uproar and defends her endeavor. "My friends call me all the time to say, 'Where should I go?' or 'What should I do?' And I thought, you know maybe some other people would be interested in it as well, so I started it, and it's doing great," the Oscar-winner told People magazine.
I can understand her trying to be helpful and whatnot, but she needs to remember that most of us are not Madonna. In fact, I'd estimate that 99.99% of fit into that category.

you know, there's a picture of her at some benefit party in this week or last week's People magazine. She's got her arm raised and she's TOTALLY SPORTING THE KABALA BRACELET.
I didn't realize she had gone that far over to the dark side, but it was very evident.
Another reason not to like her.

I am not Madonna and however I do like some of the stuff she writes about. Actually, there's no harm in talking about books, cooking or fitness. Some fancy restaurants I would never go to, true. But some things are worth reading...I never saw her as a role model but, I'd rather read what she has to say instead of reading b-s about other celebrities that whore themselves in the public eye.
Today, she made me remember my own father, shoking!!
When I was ten years old, my father and I took a trip to Paris............It was pretty great. On the plane back to London he asked me if I knew why we had gone, just he and I, to Paris for the weekend. I said no, but I felt so lucky for the trip. He said, “I wanted you to see Paris for the first time with a man who would always love you, no matter what.” From that time on, Paris was and continues to be very special to me. I lived there for five months in 1994 and I have made many trips back. These are the places in Paris I stay and eat and toast my dad.

I read a few articles at the site, it isn't majorly elitist-it actually had some interesting articles...
Great story Anne! You're father sounds extremely cool!!!

I like Gwyneth Paltrow, always have and I don't know why so many people dislike her and bash her....
I really like GOOP, not like I can afford to stay at or eat at the places she recommends. But her recipe for garlic bread looks good, lol, but um, I could have come up with that myself! :)
