Casting rumors reveal that it's very possible Tom Raider costars Angelina Jolie and Daniel Craig will reunite onscreen in the next James Bond movie. Reportedly, when Casino Royale was still in development, Angie was offered the part of Vesper Lynd but was unable to commit to the project as a result of her pregnancy.
In addition, Jolie wanted the role reworked before she'd agree to play it, suggesting that it be "toughened up." A source told The Insider that Jolie is reconsidering taking a role in the franchise, as long as it's not a one-time gig. She wants to play a recurring character in the film series.
In an interesting casting twist, Jennifer Aniston is reportedly also vying for a role in the next Bond film. These two will really never get away from one another. It's like they're the opposite of soul mates.

It would be pretty interesting to see them working together. I know there's bad blood between them but I actually think if it were a different situation they might get along. Or maybe not because Angelina doesn't really seem to have any friends.

I adore the new Bond films, but if Angelina Jolie signs on I won't be seeing any more of them. It'll suddenly be all about her, and she can't act for shit. The only film I've seen her in that I thought she did a good job was "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" -- the rest have been utter dreck.

Think the Bond producers want a little more publicity? Why should it just be the Rags that make money off these unholy three? AJ is Bond, she doesn't need to be a Bond Girl. Also, Aniston is a little too old for the "girl" role, something along an action comedy would be a better fit IMO, like the one about the EX wife being chased by her bounty hunter EX husband (whatever happened to that I wonder?)

Would LOVE to see Angelina as a Bond girl. The chemistry between her and Daniel Craig is HOT!! My hubby and I are huge Jolie fans, and this would be a cherry on the cake for the Bond franchise!!! WOW!!

@gemma: you are so right, AJ *is* Bond, absolutely. it will certainly change the dynamic significantly to have such a powerhouse presence cast across from Daniel Craig. i don't think it's a good choice and i am glad that she did not get the part of vesper. i loved eva's awkward and tender gorgeousness in that role, and the chemistry between her and craig was very touching.
and also, @ Annie, i agree, she is not a gifted film actor, and Mr and Mrs was her best. i actually also thought she was great in girl interrupted but i don't think she was really acting in that role.
at the end of the day, though, i am a devoted fan of hers for various reasons and i believe her best work is ahead of her. i just think she should try something outside of the medium of feature films for a while.

I have enough hearing about this Angie vs. aniston thing. Angelina Jolie is absolutely gorgeous, very sexy, an amazing actress, such an awesome female action movie star. It will be very exciting to see her in a bond film either playing with/against Daniel Craig. It's going to be one HOT, HOT action movie to see this!!!
Aniston is a comedienne and is too old and plain to be a bond girl!!
