Carrie Underwood was floored when she was awarded the prize for top female artist. According to the stylish singer, "I feel like I won American Idol all over again." But little did she know, she would be returning to the stage to take home the Academy of Country Music's highest honor of entertainer of the year, making her the first female to do so since the Dixie Chicks in 2000.
There were a lot of young faces on the 2009 ACM Awards stage, hosted by country veteran Reba McEntire. The redheaded singer surprised Taylor Swift, nominated for four different awards, with a special ACM Crystal Milestone Award for introducing a new, young audience to country music.
Stunned, Swift told the audience, "Are you serious? To you guys who come to my show. I have absolutely fallen in love with you and will never forget you, ever."
Dancing with The Stars star Julianne Hough was near tears upon accepting her award for top new artist. She gave thanks to "everybody that has followed me from the beginning and believed in me."
But one of the most entertaining turns of the evening was Jamie Foxx introducing George Strait's performance of "Troubadour." The comedian joked, "Things are changing. Got a black man running the country. Things are changing. I mean what's next, white people going to Tyler Perry movies?"

Who does Carrie Underwood think she is "special or something". There are a lot of fabulous country singers out there besides her. But she intentionally finds the most beautiful dresses to wear. Too many dress changes first of all. Is she aware we are in a deep recession, she should should some restrain, don't you think?
She was completely over the top with that red dress, maybe she thought she was applying for the part of Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind.
She should not have been voted the Entertainer of the Year, it should have been Kenney Chesney or George Strait in my opinion. These two men are the real thing.

Taylor Swift wore the red dress, not Carrie Underwood. Anyway, at awards shows it's probably the only time they get to really dress up so I guess they tend to go all out. Besides, aren't most dresses borrowed just for the night?

Carrie Underwood did win entertainer of the year and she totally deserves it. she is so talented and down to earth and so greatful for everything she has! Carrie Underwood is the best!!!!!!!!!!!

I can understand the confusion because Taylor and Carrie both wore a red dress on the night. Carrie's dress was pretty wow though. How much material did they have to use to make that thing?
