Singer Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty on two felony counts of aggravated assault and criminal threats related to his attack on girlfriend Rihanna. The 19-year-old musician appeared in a Los Angeles court today to make his plea regarding the February 8 incident.
A crowd of screaming fans and paparazzi had gathered around the courthouse to see the arrival of the star at 3:30 p.m. Reportedly, Brown's legal team is in the process of negotiating a plea deal with the district attorney in order to avoid a felony charge.
That way, Chris will be able to keep from receiving a "strike" under California's Three Strikes Law. Currently, Brown's girlfriend Rihanna is with her family in Barbados and is said to be cooperating with the prosecution as a witness.
Chris will return to court again on April 29.
