It's time for Chad Michael Murray to start looking for a new job. Chad and Hilarie Burton, whose characters got married in the latest episode of One Tree Hill, will not be returning for the show's seventh season next fall.
Murray and Burton had been trying to negotiate new contracts for the past several months. A deal couldn't be worked, so the CW said bye bye to the duo. They will make their final appearances in next Monday's season finale.
Two new characters will be introduced next season to fill the void. Plus, Jake Gyllenhaal's best buddy, Austin Nichols, is being promoted to series regular.
Will One Tree Hill be the same without Chad Michael Murray? Do you even watch the show anymore? Sound off in the comments.

of course oth won't be the same but I'll still watch to see what happens in season 7 besides Im a die hard oth fan, I'll always watch oth till the end im more sad about Hil leaving then chad. I really admired Hilarie and im very very upset that she is leaving but it is what it is. I wonder who the new 2 characters will be.
Courtney says:
I will watch it because I am curious to see if it will do as good and because my two fave characters Nathan and Haley are still on it. If this is true, its really sad... The show was built around Lucas/Chad and Hilarie/Peyton has also been a huge part of it...
shardy says:
thank god!
now chad can get back to his
original job - - being a dildo model

i dont think anyone even cares about chad michael murray anymore. Lucas isnt a big part of the show anymore. Hes like a background character. All he does is NOT sell books, NOT produce movies, and sit around in a garage all day tinkering with cars and thinking about Keith. I want to see MORE Brooke, MORE Nathan, MORE Julian, MORE of the hot alcoholic bartendar, and LESS Mia. Can they PLEASE stop shoving that girls' music into our faces Every damn episode!!!
Courtney says:
Yeah I agree with the music/mia thing. They are trying to hard to make her famous. I think that Lucas/Peyton are a big part of what the show was and I dont want to let go of that because it is a sign the show has gone down hill lol. I dont want to see anymore Sam/Milly/Mia/Julian...or too many guest stars... I want to see more originals and more parents... where did they go? I also think that Mark needs new ideas and not steal all of them from Dawsons Creek... If Peyton dies... thats hardcore copying Dawsons for the last time... seriously, naming of the child Lily... the mom dying, the everrrry single detail he copies.... ugh.

I love the show but I really don't know how it will survive after this. everyone saw what happened to The OC after Marissa left and the show wasn't revolved around her as much as OTH is around Lucas. I definitely will still watch the show, but I just think it won't be around too much longer to watch. I hate to saw that because it's one of my favorite shows and I hope it doesn't happen but i think its undeniable.

It was Hilarie Burton who got me hooked on the show - I knew something would come up with the whole pregnancy problems story arc - I vowed then and I meant it, without "Peyton" I was gone, as far as I am concerned the story IS about "Luke and Peyton" Next Monday night will be my last time to watch "Tree Hill"
Jolie says:
YEAH....
Their story got a little over the top...I did not enjoy watching them for a while.
Brooke, Haley and Nathan are the true blood of the show. Love them...wish that Brooke would quit taking Paytons left overs...Julian - get out...
As for the OC line above...sorry - it was Marissa that killed the story...the whole show became about her and her problems, and the other stories got forgotten...and she was the weakest link...that is why the show got canned - nobody was watching after the season of her, her and more her...good riddance...
Now...Gossip Girl...there is a show that I watch religiously...go Blair, GO!!!!.

i so can't watch this show without chad michael murray. i'm still waiting for "lucas and brooke to still somehow get back together". it still won't be the same without "peyton and lucas". the relationship between "peyton and brooke" shows such a sisterly bond that is so cute to watch. there goes next season.
