Check it, kids. Some shirtless photos of Robert Pattinson filming New Moon scenes in Italy, completely unspoiled by the appearance of some pesky dots, courtesy of ROBsessed.
And now that he's an international heartthrob, it's hard to believe that director Catherine Hardwicke initially faced criticism for casting RPattz in the role of Edward Cullen.
She told MTV News that after a number of male models read for the role, something struck her about Edward. Hardwicke explains, "Robert hast that soul and that depth and that passion and he's a very interesting person--just in his heart and soul." re: grace - if you check the original images, he had black dots drawn on him; i'm assuming for editing later when they'll CGI the sprakledom in.

On picture #2 he looks like Matt LeBlanc from "Friends" a little.
The dots and the much maligned spray job are BOTH exactly for the CGI Sparkledom Lindz so aptly describes:)
He's so fair, once they were putting all that chalkie make-up on him his features were washing out. He has worked out pretty intensely for this scene, but they still need to emphasize the definition as it will need to show THROUGH the sparkles. I'm sure it's a lot more technical than I'm explaining it, but that's what the deal is. He's not a fraud, this is just show business.
