Just let this be over, and soon. Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin, of the TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus Eight, publicly announced that they will separate on the same day that Kate filed for divorce in a Pennsylvania court.
"Over the course of this weekend, Jon's activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children," Kate said in a statement Monday night. "While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children."
Jon released a statement of his own, claiming his wife was the first to make a legal move. "This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn't change that."
"This will be a difficult transition for all of us," Jon's statement continued, "but Kate and I will work out a schedule that enables our kids to have plenty of quality time with both of us at home in Pennsylvania. In terms of my marriage, it's no secret that the past six months or so have been very difficult for Kate and me. We are no different than other couples and parents who are facing a crossroads in their marriage. I am of course deeply saddened that we are divorcing."

No high road here now is there? Get so tired of hearing about how they care about the kids. You care about the kids you drop this whole fiasco and work on the relationship not give up. We will be hearing about you kids for years to come and all of their problems. What a shame.

And yes, John totally needs to step it up and the sooner the better. But at least he has always been sincere. Now John can find some peace and happiness in his life with his beautiful kids.
You know Kate will be wheeling and dealing those kids for the MONEY and FAME she so desperately craves and lives for!!! For the kids my azz!!!!

Kate is trying to portray herself as a victim. She is the biggest hypocrite ever. Never liked her. Everyone is pretty much sick of her rants and raves. No wonder John checked out. She always seemed like she would do anything to keep her name in the spotlights. Hope John gets to see his kids because they clearly love and need him.

Have to disagree with you jefferson. Jon knew how she was when he married her. Besides, he benefited from the show as much as she did. It is hard to buy diamond studs for your ears when he was fired from his last job. He needs to man up and get a job and support his family.
If they were truly interested in doing what was best for the kids they would end the show and try to work things out. Divorce is the easy way out.
