It was quite a scene on Hollywood Boulevard yesterday, in the wake of Michael Jackson's sudden and very surprising death. Fans flocking to the superstar's star on the Walk of Fame just in front of the Chinese Theatre weren't the only reason.
On that very spot, event crews had placed their production equipment and lights in preparation for last night's Hollywood premiere of Bruno at Mann's Chinese Theatre. By this morning, however, fans were free to visit the star to pay their respects.
In the wake of Jackson's death, Sacha Baron Cohen and producers of Bruno decided to cut a scene from the film, which features a gag interview with Michael's sister, LaToya Jackson. The studio confirmed the edit by saying, "Even in the often-shocking comedy, jokes at the expense of the late Mr Jackson would have been in poor taste."
I know they mean well, but I get the sneaking suspicion LaToya's going to be disappointed.

SACHA BARON COHEN has dropped an interview with LATOYA JACKSON from the Bruno movie, after it was deemed to be in poor taste.
The scene was axed just a few minutes before last night's premiere of the movie in LA after producers heard of MICHAEL JACKSON's death.
In it the gay Austrian fashion reporter pesters LaToya repeatedly about Michael, as she uses a Mexican immigrant for a chair.
The studio confirmed the cut to the Wall Street Journal, with a source saying: "Even in the often-shocking comedy, jokes at the expense of the late Mr Jackson would have been in poor taste."
The studio added that they did not expect the scene to be restored for the film's worldwide release on July 10.
