Highly vocal in her activism for the rights of animals, Hayden Panettiere had yet to talk about an issue close to home--her father's domestic violence arrest.
When the 19-year-old Heroes star chatted with Seventeen magazine, she took the opportunity to clear the air about the incident. Panettiere tells the mag, "It put my dad in this light that is so not him. You know your mind goes to: 'He abuses, he beats his wife.' For my dad to have that reputation now--which is so not who he is--kills me."
But family life wasn't the only topic of discussion. Hayden also broached another subject about which she doesn't often divulge too many details--dating. Shrugging off any rumors of a current romantic connection, Hayden says simply, "Right now, I'm just enjoying having fun. It's when your not looking for anything that something winds up coming along, whether it's a best friend or a guy."
