Ever gone to the merch table at a concert and though "Oh, I want that t-shirt, and that keychain, and that back, and that limited edition CD, and that sweater, and that cute little plush toy" but known that you would never have the money to buy it all? Well, that doesn't seem to stop Matthew Blyth, a 20-year-old from England, who spends about 90% of all his money on Britney Spears merchandise.
Blyth says that probably spends about $650 of his $780 monthly salary on Britney DVDs, posters, music, clothing, and I'm guessing some plush toys too. He says that he has an "emotional connection" with Brit Brit and he has "followed every move she has ever made since I was 10 years old and analyze everything she does and cried when she shaved her head." Umm, OK Matthew.
Blyth, who currently lives with his mother in Hettering, Northants, also said about the pop star, "I have been with her from the very start and she is literally my life - I'm not one of those fans who abandoned her after her break down. It started off with an obsession with her music but now I think I have ended up with an obsession for her - I would do anything to meet her"
Although he has yet to meet her, he has seen two of her current European tour shows. And now, thanks to his obsession, he's got a starring role in a new BBC documentary Britney Spears Saved My Life. He even got to perform One More Time with at Britney tribute act.
I really hope he meets her. I feel like those two could be best friends. They'd sit around, talk about how great Britney is, and then he can tell to not do stupid things. I like it.
