Madonna Is Now A Kabbalist Newspaper Woman

She sings, she dances, she sells people things, and now Madonna writes for Israel's biggest daily paper. In today's edition of Yediot Ahronot, Madge's article on her relationship with Kabbalah can be found in both Hebrew and English and will no doubt be the talk of the Israeli paper world.

Madonna writes that after she discovered Jewish mysticism, "all the puzzle pieces started falling into place." While Madonna herself was raised a Roman Catholic, she was heavily interested Buddhism, Taoism, and early Christianity before discovered Kabbalah.

When she attended a Kabbalah class, she knew she had found what she'd be searching for. "I heard what [the teacher] had to say and I knew at this moment my life would never be the same. Life no longer seemed like a series of Random events. I also began to see that being Rich and Famous wasn't going to bring me lasting fulfillment and that it was not the end of the journey."

Since Madonna hopped on the Kabbalah train in 1996, tons of other A-list celebs have joined her like Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, and Britney Spears. Esther, the name Madonna chose for her Hebrew name, has taken two pilgrimages to Israel, and will be taking her Sticky & Sweet concert tour in September, her first Israel show since 1993.

Kabbalah, for those who aren't familiar with it, is the ancient Jewish tradition of mystical interpretation of the Bible. Because the Jewish faith thinks that it can be so easily misunderstood, students may only begin to study it if they have a strong background in Jewish law and only after the age of 40.

Leave it to the nice Roman Catholic, Material Girl to discover her love of Kabbalah. Maybe she can use her love letters to love more Kabbalah. I even have one of the red Kabbalah bracelets. I should wear that and pretend to be cool.
