Whitney Houston performed "I Look To You" live on the German talk show Wetten Dass. The singer received a standing ovation prior to her performing the song. Her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was in the audience watching the performance.
Her voice is so much rougher now. While she still has a pretty good set of pipes on her, it's rough. Thoughts?

I do think her voice is "rougher" as you say, but not in a bad way. She's been in the career for over 25 years now, so she's got that deeper, growling edge to it now. I think it bodes her well! While we can't ignore what happened to her over the past years, we can't know how much of that played into the "rougher" side or not...her voice is one of a kind...who knows what that singing could do to a voice over the years, too....night after night. Thanks for sharing this!

Different Shmifferent. She still sounds better than any singer holding the mic in 09 and this clip is proof. I'm getting so tired of people criticizing Whitney for sustaining 7 years of substance abuse and having the temerity to sound rough around the edges. Nobody can do what this woman does with a song. STill.
