Last Friday at BIllboard's fourth annual Women In Music event, Beyonce spoke out for the first time about Kanye West's VMAs on-stage interruptus. MTV.com reports that while the singer understood what Kanye was standing up for, she wasn't all that pumped about his game plan.
"Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he's like, 'You have this award,' Beyoncé told O: The Oprah Magazine editor Gayle King after accepting her award. "And when they didn't call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, 'No, no, no!' and then he spoke, and I was like, 'Oh, no, no, no!'
But in the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment -- and I didn't have to make an acceptance speech,' she added, laughing. "
Everybody wins! Except West. West needs an extended time-out. No more crazy concert times for you and GaGa.

Standing up for art?? Beyonce's Single Ladies is more artful than Swift's work? Yeah, right. It's all bubble gum, moneymaking, pass the time, "music". Nothing earthshattering or world changing about it. That's okay, really, as we need some respite from the real world; but to call it "standing up for art" implies Swift's stuff isn't on the same plane as Bey Bey's, and that's ludicrous. Beyonce is overhyped, overextending, and needs to get over herself.
Sheesh.
What would she have said or done if someone had rushed the stage and "stood up for their opinions" during her moment? Yeah, they'd be missing in action damned quick.
