A snitch tells the National Enquirer that Ashlee Simpson is so upset over being let go from the CW series, Melrose Place, that she is "teetering on the edge of an emotional breakdown."
The 25-year-old is reportedly so thin because she's living on energy drinks and nuts. And as a result of her sudden unemployment, she is "devastated." An insider claims, "Ashlee didn't see it coming, and now she's crushed. She invested her heart and soul into the job. She feels like the rug has been pulled out from under her."
While the official reason for Ashlee leaving is being cited as the producers simply wanting to go in a different direction, a source tells Us Weekly, "She's the worst actress, but nobody will tell her." Another claims that Ashlee was brought on in order to get press for the CW series, but "she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible."
At least Ashlee still has one staunch fan in her sister, Jessica Simpson. On her Twitter page on Sunday, Jess writes, "CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press."
That's very sweet of Jessica--especially considering her sister likes to taunt her with her baby.
