2009 InStyle Golden Globes Afterparty

If you were a celebrity and you couldn't get into the HBO party last night, you were at InStyle's big ole' soiree. Everyone who's ever been on your TV or move screen yet still causes you to go "what's her name?" seemed to have been there. Some standouts:

Kristen Bell looked hot in red, with her hair behind one ear so she could hear the Heroes producers beg her to come back to their damn show seeing as she was pretty much the only reason to watch that shitshow.

Her Heroes co-star Hayden Panettiere stuffed her boobage into a strapless sparkly eggplant of a dress, which was obviously trying to lure people other than the Heroes producers into hiring her. Even the cheerleader wants off that mess.

Rachel Zoe literally dressed as the Angel of Death. Seriously, she doesn't want anyone talking about her clavicle that can hew rock anymore so she wore a giant black toga. She should have a vulture perched on her shoulder or be carrying an hourglass and a scythe.

Innovative baby namer Paris Hilton lost her weave at her last lubed-up orgyplex, and went short for the show last night. She also had a blue gown on that I sort of liked, which means I probably should be forming a noose right now and using it becase I've sunk low. Very very low.

'Shrek The Musical' Brings Out The Celebs

Ugh, they will turn ANYTHING into a damn musical. We're waiting for Just The Ten Of Us: The Musical and Ronco: The Show. Celebs including Cameron Diaz, America Ferrera, Phylicia Rashad, Joan Rivers, Michael Urie, Judith Light, Cheyenne Jackson, Natalie Morales, Rosie Perez, Ben Stiller, Hope Davis, Christine Taylor and Mary Catherine Gallagher came out for a night of watching Broadway murder an animated classic with Shrek the Musical. Did you know that Shrek is reportedly the reason why Brad Pitt might marry Angelina Jolie someday?

Celebs strolled down a Shrek-green carpet for their arrivaIs. Is Ben Stiller's wife Christine Taylor ok? She's looking a little...cougarish lately, and she's a little young for that. Maybe it's the stuffy Jackie O black dress.

Phylicia Rashad is totally working the Christmas stuffing out of that Three Wise Men at a disco outfit. It's a glitterball holiday. Cameron Diaz should have left the black coat at home (just run from the limo, pose quickly and get into the theatre) and she also should have lightened up on the face paint. Damn, is she just scrawling the lipstick on in a marijuana haze now?

America Ferrera looked lovely as always accompanied by Ugly Betty co-star Michael Urie, and Cheyenne Jackson should ALWAYS wear the scalley cap, sweater and tie combo. It's working for him.

Glamour Women Of The Year: Devoted Mom Nicole Kidman

For her humantarian efforts with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and her body of work as an actress, Nicole Kidman was included in the list of women honored by Glamour magazine for their Women of the Year awards.

Nicole joins an esteemed list of women that include Hilary Clinton, Soledad O'Brien, Jane Goodall and Condoleeza Rice, just to name a few. Recently honored by Elle, Kidman was the picture of glamor, showing up in a body-hugging white dress with her husband Keith Urban by her side that made them look as if they should be perched atop a wedding cake.

The new mom talked with Glamour about slowing down her career to accommodate the needs of her growing family. "At this time in my life, I want to be giving to my relationships. And out of that, whatever work you do prospers because you have more to give." Yes, Nicole, take a nap or two. We get the feeling you work way too hard.

Lindsay Lohan's Stint On 'Ugly Betty' Shortened

On-set tension between Ugly Betty star America Ferrera and guest star Lindsay Lohan is the reason that the Labor Pains actress will only be appearing in four episodes of this season, rather than six.

One source on the set dished to Page Six that Lindsay chain-smoked incessantly, was surrounded by an entourage that included her girlfriend Samantha Ronson and left her dressing room such a mess that it had to be repainted after she left. The source said that during a particular scene, America was supposed to pull down Lohan's pants, but according to the spy, "Lindsay wasn't wearing any underwear."

In her defense, a friend said that Lindsay was wearing a thong and she and Ferrera were rehearsing and Lindsay's pants weren't supposed to go down. "Lindsay was so embarrassed, she started crying."

In a case of he-said, she-said, both reps for the young stars are claiming that Lindsay had a lovely time on the set, denying any reports of discord.

Madonna's Footwear Aims To Kill

Stepping out onto the red carpet for the premiere of her film Filth and Wisdom, Madonna donned a pair of shoes that were right on target. The pop star turned film director flashed a pair of Chanel platform shoes with tiny guns holding up her feet.

Karl Lagerfeld was taken with the image of a gun and passed the idea along to shoe designer for the label Laurence Decade, who created the fiery footwear. I'm going to predict Angelina Jolie orders at least 5 pairs of these in varying shades of black--but with bullets.

The 50-year-old singer managed to steal the limelight on the red carpet from the young attendees who included Lindsay Lohan with her Darryl Hannah from Splash hair and a short black dress, sketchy Taylor Momsen and some more young, nubile members of the Gossip Girl gang.

And underneath all that hair is Michael Imperioli...lurking.

'Ugly Betty' Cast On 2008 Emmy Red Carpet

I feel like everyone was very anti-strap this Emmy season. In keeping with that theme, star of Ugly Betty America Ferrera showed up on the red carpet in a strapless black dress. I actually like the whole look--the red lips, the bling, the red nail polish, and the soft waves--but there's just something awkward about those folds in her dress that I can't quite support.

Vanessa Williams looked fabulous, as always, in a black and white dress that looked essentially strapless except for a strip of spangly whiteness going over her shoulder. Absolutely fucking flawless.

'Ugly Betty' Celebrates Impending Return

Yay! My TiVo's been hungry for new episodes of Ugly Betty and now its cravings will be satisfied with America Ferrera busting out the Ugly glasses, wig and braces. Also, this season we'll be treated to a story arc in which Lindsay Lohan is a featured guest star as a character from Betty's high-school past.

Last night, the stars of the show got all dolled up and hit up Highbar in New York to celebrate the premiere of the show which is Sept. 25. So here on the red carpet, Lindsay looks a little sickly, but what are you gonna do? At least her ass isn't hanging out like Jaslene Gonzalez. I swear, it's two steps forward, three steps back with that one.

America looked stunning in her floral print and with amazing hair and Vanessa Williams managed to look good in a shiny animal print, a feat for a woman at any age. I tip my hat to her.

America Rejects 'The Hills' And 'Gossip Girl'

Ugly Betty star American Ferrera totally dissed the reality television proponents of mediocrity also known as The Hills cast when she told Seventeen magazine that she's disappointed in the way female relationships are often portrayed on TV.

"Like, if you're watching The Hills or 90210, all the backstabbing shapes the way we act--you go to school, and you think your job is to find a sworn enemy and be jealous of each other."

She also threw Gossip Girl into the mix saying that although she did "love Blake [Lively]," she was dismayed that "shows like Gossip Girl kind of condition us to be mean."

I do agree that the chicks from The Hills suck but because well, they just do. But by her logic that also means that impressionable individuals watching Ugly Betty will be tempted to fake their own deaths and/or carry the baby of a dead magazine magnate to pay for an estranged husband's medical treatment.

And to dress all crazy.

Lindsay Lohan, America & A Virgin On 'Ugly Betty'

Happily engaged and purported virgin Victoria's Secret angel Adriana Lima is hitting up the set of Ugly Betty for a guest spot. Of course, stars of the show America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams are there as well Lindsay Lohan, who's been in New York filming scenes for the show.

Dude, everybody's about the high-profile guest stars right now.

As we can see, Lindsay's recently developed an affinity for short, shiny, purple dresses. Could it be that this new item of clothing has replaced her trusty black leggings? Let's hope so.
