If you missed it, this was one of the most touching and heartfelt speeches of the night.

The Golden Globes: TV Winners
I'm going to be honest with you guys--after about the first thirty minutes of an awards show, I'm usually tipsy, irritable and ready for bed. But, since I knew I had to pay attention for work, I steeled myself against the inevitable antsy feeling that would overtake me the minute Tom Hanks' giant orange gourd of a head first appeared on screen. And honestly, it's really all just a blur of shiny dresses and tuxedos and since I'm really bad at remembering things in chronological order, I'm just going to give you random little snippets of what I thought were some of the most memorable moments on stage for the TV winners.
I think I first really started paying attention once Jeremy Irons won his award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
And OMG, guys--and I do mean OMG in all caps.
Aside from his outfit, which looked like a hand-me-down from Mozart himself, Mr. Irons radiated about as much health as a man suffering from chronic tuberculosis. Upon stepping on stage, he very efficiently made his way to Miss Golden Globe (Jack Nicholson's daughter, Lorraine Nicholson reprising the role of probably the best anthropomorphic display of the term "Hollywood nepotism") and stole a kiss from the young lass, bringing to mind his role in "Lolita," after which he delivered a wonderfully rambling speech that ended with a confusing, if not enthusiastic shout-out to his girl, Helen Mirren. His bizarre appearance and speech aside, I think he's a wonderful actor and kudos, Jeremy. Now, go chug a protein shake and get some rest.

America Ferrera Shines
I'll try not to "ooh" and "aah" about America Fererra too much (okay, I know I will), but as Betty Suarez, Fererra is completely amazing. She is totally the heart and soul of "Ugly Betty." Without her, the show would not succeed, due to the fact that many of the characters are played just too over the top. America has made me laugh and cry on more than on occasion in her portrayal of the "ugly" assistant.
The actress is excited to be recognized with Golden Globe nominations for the show and actress.
"We've worked so hard, and now we can celebrate it together," Ferrera said. "It is a wonderful cast and crew and show to be on. Everyone is so excited."Though some people were appalled by the show's title when it first came out, Ferrera's confident that viewers now get the message that "ugly" isn't meant to insult.
"I think we knew the title would be a little jarring. But once you see it, then you know," she said. "You get it. You know there's irony in the title and it's a commentary on the definition of what ugly and beautiful is."

The Women of Hollywood Get Their Charity On
The women of Hollywood, plus a few men were all in attendance at a charity auction hosted by Dolce & Gabbana and actress Penelope Cruz to raise awareness for the non-profit organization The Art of Elysium, in West Hollywood. The public can take part in the festivities as well. You can bid on the Dolce & Gabbana dress that Penelope Cruz wore to the event.
The mission of The Art of Elysium: The Art of Elysium, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1997, encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. We provide artistic workshops in the following disciplines: acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing.

Salma Hayek Produces
The actress turned television producer Salma Hayek has a hit on her hands. "Ugly Betty" was just picked up for the full television season because of the shows resounding success, which has a lot do with the incredible America Ferrera. Albeit, Salma isn't one to sit on the sidelines for long. She's be guest starring on another episode of "Ugly Betty" during the November sweeps.
This isn't the first television show that Hayek has appeared on.
The last time Salma Hayek appreared on TV, Bill Clinton was in office and no one had ever heard of Ross and Rachel. The year was 1993 and the sitcom she briefly appeared on was called "The Sinbad Show," which she was promptly written off of after only a few episodes.Whatever happened to Sinbad?

Thursday Nights Will Never Be The Same
The coveted Thursday night bill has been tweaked as "Ugly Betty" joins the lineup. Opening the gates for "Grey's Anatomy" and a new dramatic series "Six Degrees," the show bumps "America's Funniest Videos" to Friday nights where it belongs.
The show produced by Salma Hayek is basically a series version of "The Devil Wears Prada" with a confused woman yielding a mouth full of braces replacing Anne Hathaway. It obviously impressed someone as it takes the Thursday night reigns on ABC. Its competition on NBC puts television heavyweights "My Name is Earl" and "The Office" up against the new fledgling pilot.
ABC also yanks "One Ocean View" out of Monday's spot. It will be replaced by repeats of children running rampant on "Super Nanny."
Ouch.
