'Sunshine Cleaning' Star Emily Blunt Tries To Resist Gag Reflex

Both Amy Adams of Enchanted fame and Emily Blunt from The Devil Wears Prada hardly look like they would be comfortable cleaning up blood and guts. But that's exactly what their characters are charged with doing in their new comedy Sunshine Cleaning.

At a screening of the indie film at The Grove Pacific Theaters, Blunt said that the crime scenes she and Amy pretended to clean up for the movie were fake, but her reaction to the gore was very real.

"Particularly the trailer park one--that was gag-making. We walked on set and I felt myself heave, as it really did smell," Blunt confessed. I hope no one explains to her that every red carpet is dyed using the blood of all the starlet hopefuls who never make it onto the big screen. Little known piece of Hollywood nostalgia.

Amy Adams: 2009 Oscars Red Carpet

Some nights call for a little more dramatic oomph than your regular, run-of-the-mill, neutral-colored slinky thing. Oscar night is one of said evenings, which is why we thought Amy Adams' red, strapless, floor-length Carolina Herrera gown was perfectly suitable.

While a bold red on a redhead can be dicey, the dress and regal-looking green and purple Fred Leighton necklace worked against her pulled back hair and alabaster skin.

Oscar Nomination = Free Lunch

Of course, it's an honor just to be nominated. In addition, those who have been recognized with an Academy Award nomination are also privy to a special luncheon in their honor.

Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, the event hosted such glamorous Oscar hopefuls as actresses Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, Taraji P. Henson, Melissa Leo, Viola Davis and Penelope Cruz.

This sounds like fun for a normal person, but eating so soon before the big day, ladies? Kidding, of course! These actresses seem like the eating type. Also, that's why Spanx was invented.

Featured in the gallery:  Marisa Tomei, Sean Penn, Mickey Rourke, Gus Van Zant, Amy Adams, Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz, Josh Brolin, Taraji P. Henson, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo, Robert Downey Jr., Danny Elfman, Danny Boyle, Richard Jenkins, Frank Langella and Ron Howard.''

DGA Awards Honor Danny Boyle & 'Slumdog Millionaire'

Director Danny Boyle and his movie Slumdog Millionaire continued their wildly successful run this awards season by nabbing the Directors Guild of America top prize. The film was awarded the DGA feature award, beating out The Dark Knight, Milk, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon.

This award is usually a pretty good predictor of Oscar success, so Danny might want to go ahead and get that speech ready for the big night. I love this awards show! It's 90% nerdy guys in guits! And I mean REAL nerds, not the American Apparel kind.

And the other 10% was hot people--the Christian Bale and Marisa Tomei kind of hot.

Featured in the gallery: Gus Van Zant, Michelle Monaghan, Richard Jenkins, Freida Pinto, Lisa Edelstein, Rachel Griffiths, Roger Ebert, Frank Langella, Dev Patel, Danny Bolye, Viola Davis, Josh Brolin, Melissa Leo, Amy Adams, Ron Howard, Christopher Nolan, Tarji P. Henson, Marisa Tomei, Claire Danes, Hugh Dancy, Virginia Madsen, Teri Seymour and Susanna Hoffs.

Oscar Nominations Are In!

The 81st Annual Oscar Nominations are finally in!

No huge stop-the-presses surprises here. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is the clear favorite with 13 nominations, including, yes, an Oscar nomination for Brad Pitt. Keeping Brad company: Sean Penn, Mickey Rourke, Frank Langella and Richard Jenkins.

Brad's lady pal in crime, Angelina Jolie, was nominated for best actress, alongside Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Melissa Leo, and Kate Winslet.

Heath Ledger kept up his posthumous streak with a nomination for supporting actor in Dark Knight while Penelope Cruz and Amy Adams were both nominated in the supporting actress category.

Indie favorite Slumdog Millionaire also did incredibly well with 10 nominations as did The Dark Knight with 8 nominations.

See the full list of nominees after the jump.

National Board Of Review Awards: Classy, Sexy Ladies

The swank National Board of Review Awards gala attracted a host of curvy ladies such as Salma Hayek, Heather Graham, Anne Hathaway and Susan Sarandon's daughter Eva Amurri.

Held at Cipriani on 42nd Street in NYC, the event marks the Centennial of the NBR and was sponsored by Bulgari. Ah yes, that explains the gorgeous actresses. If you're looking to attract beautiful women, just throw a pile of diamonds somewhere and they will come. It's like a salt lick.

2009 InStyle Golden Globes Afterparty

If you were a celebrity and you couldn't get into the HBO party last night, you were at InStyle's big ole' soiree. Everyone who's ever been on your TV or move screen yet still causes you to go "what's her name?" seemed to have been there. Some standouts:

Kristen Bell
looked hot in red, with her hair behind one ear so she could hear the Heroes producers beg her to come back to their damn show seeing as she was pretty much the only reason to watch that shitshow.

Her Heroes co-star Hayden Panettiere stuffed her boobage into a strapless sparkly eggplant of a dress, which was obviously trying to lure people other than the Heroes producers into hiring her. Even the cheerleader wants off that mess.

Rachel Zoe literally dressed as the Angel of Death. Seriously, she doesn't want anyone talking about her clavicle that can hew rock anymore so she wore a giant black toga. She should have a vulture perched on her shoulder or be carrying an hourglass and a scythe.

Innovative baby namer Paris Hilton lost her weave at her last lubed-up orgyplex, and went short for the show last night. She also had a blue gown on that I sort of liked, which means I probably should be forming a noose right now and using it becase I've sunk low. Very very low.

Featured in the gallery: Paris Hilton, Gerard Bulter, Sophia Bush, Adrianne Palicki, Zoe Salinda, Elisabeth Rohm, Debra Messing, Zachery Qunito, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Hayden Panettiere, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Megan Fox, Heidi Klum, Taylor Momsen, Ryan Kwanten, Rachel Zoe, Chris Pine, Adrian Grenier, Jon Voight, Blair Underwood, Jessica Stroup, Rhona Mitra, Kevin Connolly, Amanda Bynes, Jenna Fisher, Kevin McKidd, Common, America Ferrera, Sting, Bai Ling, Christina Hendricks, Lacey Chabert, Seth Rogan, Kate Beckinsale, Ginnifer Goodwin, Emma Roberts, Sally Field, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, Michael C. Amy Adams: 2009 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet

Amy Adams has stopped doing her hair. Maybe that's the way to go. Just brush it and make sure you don't have anything snarly or flyaways and you're good to go. She looks a little Amish girl gone to the big city and got hired as a car model, but she's a talented actress and could know better than us. She was one of many women last night at the Critics Choice Awards in blue, so she's down with the latest trends, obviously.

Palm Springs Film Festival Gives Props To Clint & Leo

There were a number of old-school Hollywood heavy hitters at the Palm Springs Film Festival. Donald Sutherland, Dustin Hoffman and Clint Eastwood represented for the silver-haired crowd. Clint, the grizzled old bastard, showed up to accept his Career Achievement Award. Good for him. I saw him once on a red carpet and I can't imagine a more intimidating individual to meet in person.

Leonardo DiCaprio and his permanent baby face accepted the Ensemble Performance Award for his co-stars in Revolutionary Road, which include his buddy and on-screen love interest Kate Winslet. Milk star Sean Penn nabbed the Desert Palm Achievement Award and he must have been happy with it because nobody ended up with his award jammed up their ass. I don't know if you know, but that one is a little on the temperamental side.

Fresh-faced Anne Hathaway took home a Desert Palm Achievement award as well for her performance in Rachel Getting Married. Also, I love that Suzanne Somers was there. Thighmasters for everyone!
