National Board Of Review Awards: Classy, Sexy Ladies

Share

The swank National Board of Review Awards gala attracted a host of curvy ladies such as Salma Hayek, Heather Graham, Anne Hathaway and Susan Sarandon's daughter Eva Amurri.

Held at Cipriani on 42nd Street in NYC, the event marks the Centennial of the NBR and was sponsored by Bulgari. Ah yes, that explains the gorgeous actresses. If you're looking to attract beautiful women, just throw a pile of diamonds somewhere and they will come. It's like a salt lick.

2009 InStyle Golden Globes Afterparty

Share

If you were a celebrity and you couldn't get into the HBO party last night, you were at InStyle's big ole' soiree. Everyone who's ever been on your TV or move screen yet still causes you to go "what's her name?" seemed to have been there. Some standouts:

Kristen Bell
looked hot in red, with her hair behind one ear so she could hear the Heroes producers beg her to come back to their damn show seeing as she was pretty much the only reason to watch that shitshow.

Her Heroes co-star Hayden Panettiere stuffed her boobage into a strapless sparkly eggplant of a dress, which was obviously trying to lure people other than the Heroes producers into hiring her. Even the cheerleader wants off that mess.

Rachel Zoe literally dressed as the Angel of Death. Seriously, she doesn't want anyone talking about her clavicle that can hew rock anymore so she wore a giant black toga. She should have a vulture perched on her shoulder or be carrying an hourglass and a scythe.

Innovative baby namer Paris Hilton lost her weave at her last lubed-up orgyplex, and went short for the show last night. She also had a blue gown on that I sort of liked, which means I probably should be forming a noose right now and using it becase I've sunk low. Very very low.

Featured in the gallery: Paris Hilton, Gerard Bulter, Sophia Bush, Adrianne Palicki, Zoe Salinda, Elisabeth Rohm, Debra Messing, Zachery Qunito, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Hayden Panettiere, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Megan Fox, Heidi Klum, Taylor Momsen, Ryan Kwanten, Rachel Zoe, Chris Pine, Adrian Grenier, Jon Voight, Blair Underwood, Jessica Stroup, Rhona Mitra, Kevin Connolly, Amanda Bynes, Jenna Fisher, Kevin McKidd, Common, America Ferrera, Sting, Bai Ling, Christina Hendricks, Lacey Chabert, Seth Rogan, Kate Beckinsale, Ginnifer Goodwin, Emma Roberts, Sally Field, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Emily Deschanel, Anne Hathaway, Gina Gershon, Shenae Grimes, Marisa Tomei, Yvonne Strahovski, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Kyra Sedgewick, Minka Kelly, Grant Show, Amy Adams, Sarah Chalke, Kate Beckinsale, Simon Baker, Jennifer Esposito, Kristin Bell.

Amy Adams: 2009 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet

Share

Amy Adams has stopped doing her hair. Maybe that's the way to go. Just brush it and make sure you don't have anything snarly or flyaways and you're good to go. She looks a little Amish girl gone to the big city and got hired as a car model, but she's a talented actress and could know better than us. She was one of many women last night at the Critics Choice Awards in blue, so she's down with the latest trends, obviously.

Palm Springs Film Festival Gives Props To Clint & Leo

Share

There were a number of old-school Hollywood heavy hitters at the Palm Springs Film Festival. Donald Sutherland, Dustin Hoffman and Clint Eastwood represented for the silver-haired crowd. Clint, the grizzled old bastard, showed up to accept his Career Achievement Award. Good for him. I saw him once on a red carpet and I can't imagine a more intimidating individual to meet in person.

Leonardo DiCaprio and his permanent baby face accepted the Ensemble Performance Award for his co-stars in Revolutionary Road, which include his buddy and on-screen love interest Kate Winslet. Milk star Sean Penn nabbed the Desert Palm Achievement Award and he must have been happy with it because nobody ended up with his award jammed up their ass. I don't know if you know, but that one is a little on the temperamental side.

Fresh-faced Anne Hathaway took home a Desert Palm Achievement award as well for her performance in Rachel Getting Married. Also, I love that Suzanne Somers was there. Thighmasters for everyone!

18th Gotham Awards Recognize Independent Film Peeps

Share

Even though his film The Wrestler didn't pick up the award for best feature, Mickey Rourke is still riding high on the critical acclaim his film with director Darren Aronofsky has been receiving so far. Also, getting to hand out with Aronofsky's stunning British actress wife Rachel Weisz probably helped Mickey's mood.

Star of Wendy and Lucy, Michelle Williams had a prolific last year and is enjoying kudos for her work and happily joined Marissa Tomei on stage to present an award.

Penelope Cruz picked up an award for her role in Elegy with Ben Kingsley and has also been getting recognition for her turn in Vicky Cristina Barcelona alongside her boyfriend Javier Bardem and curvaceous co-star Scarlett Johansson.

And in case you're wondering, Terrence Howard has guitar, will travel.

Natalie Portman Likes The Sex

Share

Apparently, celibacy is an impossible pursuit for actress Natalie Portman. According to gossipsauce.com, playwright John Patrick Shanley spilled the beans on why Portman ultimately wasn't cast in the film adaptation of his play Doubt.

"Well, we asked Natalie Portman, and Natalie was very interested but kept saying she had a problem. And we finally nailed down as to what the problem was. She basically said she didn't understand celibacy."

Habit-loving Amy Adams was eventually cast in the role and as for Natalie, we hear ya on that. Preaching to the choir here.

Amy Adams Enjoyed Her Good Habit

Share

Being a nun agreed with the red-headed star of Doubt so much so that she was sad to hang it up. Amy Adams talked with press at a screening for the film in which she stars with acting powerhouse Meryl Streep. "I could eat as many nachos as I wanted in the nun's habit--it was great."

Adams sported a decidedly more form-fitting gown for a special screening of the film in Los Angeles, showing off a fabulous figure. On the other end of the spectrum, Meryl opted for the sexy, mildly disapproving schoolmarm look to great effect.

A grizzled Seymour Phillip Hoffman kept it simple, and for as interesting of an actor as he is, he can show up in a paper bag for all I care. The trailer for this emotionally-charged film has us wanting to get we to a nunnery.

Frances McDormand and Amy Adams Promise to Remain BFF

Reviews of "Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day" make me think that I would enjoy seeing the movie. And it doesn't hurt that Frances McDormand and Amy Adams are starring in it. I love these two--especially because they look like they're pinky-swearing something here on the red carpet at the New York City premiere of their movie.

Frances McDormand is awesome, in her no-nonsense black dress. Girlfriend doesn't mess around with the red carpet. You just know that she was sitting at home, stuck a bookmark in "The Pillars of the Earth" (because despite herself, she watches Oprah from time to time), threw on her black ensemble and resolved to be home in time to read another chapter before getting to sleep at a decent hour.
