They may not have made a big show of walking the red carpet upon arriving at last night's Academy Awards, but John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston were seated together at the event.

Aniston appeared unnerved while on stage with Jack Black to present the award for Best Animated Feature face-to-face with her ex-husband Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie. Last night marked the first time all three parties have been in the same room since the couple's divorce in 2005.



It wasn't until the Vanity Fair after-party that Jennifer and John were able to really step out as a couple. Jennifer stuck to her usual California beach girl look in a strapless, metallic and white gown and her honey blond hair loose with a simple braid across the top. And I have to hand it to him, John does look nice in that tux.

Imperial Queen of the Evil Stare of Death, Angelina Jolie stepped out in a long, stunning Elie Saab in her favorite shade of black. Setting off the gown with some bright green Lorraine Schwartz earrings. On her big night nominated for her role in Changeling, Angie also chose a Lana Marks bag and Ferragamo shoes.

As for Brad Pitt, he stepped out in a Tom Ford tuxedo for his trip down the red carpet and (he's hoping) up to the stage this evening for his nomination in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

A Rolling Stone interview with a precocious John Mayer back in 2006 had him telling the interviewer a joke he'd thought up about his future girlfriend's ex-husband. At the time, Mayer was dating Jessica Simpson and said the following:

"Everyone thinks Brad Pitt has it great because he married Angelina Jolie. I think he has it terrible, because when Angelina Jolie is giving you a blow job, what do you tip your head back and think of to help you finish? You have nothing left--just Jesus on a polar bear in the middle of the snow, saying, 'You greedy motherfucker, I've got nothing for you.'"

Ha! I love it. I bet when he tells it to Jennifer Aniston, she laughs so hard she doesn't have to her ab workout routine for the day.

Continuing her house-hunting duties in New York, Angelina Jolie was spotted leaving a studio in the city. Angie continues to work on the Jolie-Pitt family's transition to the big apple, while Brad Pitt was spotted leaving the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to head to the MGM Grand Casino to pick up the kids.

This awards season, the Academy Award-nominated couple have been tramping up and down red carpets around the world at each other's side. But now, they're in divide and conquer mode at the moment, getting some shit done before their big day this weekend.

Angelina's looking pretty severe here, what with her sunglasses and black coat. I get the feeling that if she goes home empty-handed, Brad better not have won something lest she melt him with a single glance.

We'll be seeing a lot of him this Sunday, so we figured this item about Ryan Seacrest being a Red Carpet wind-up robot doll when interviewing celebrities during awards ceremonies was particularly apt. He's basically programmed to say "fantastic!" and "great!" and "awesome!" in 10-15 second intervals.

In an interview with UK's Star he wasn't anywhere near designer gowns, red carpets or cameras so he could be a bit more truthful when asked if he lies to celebrities:

"Yes - I live in Hollywood, I work for E! Have I ever lied on the red carpet - erm, yes, I have! Sometimes I find myself saying: 'That looks...' and sometimes 'great' comes out before I can process I've said it, or 'fantastic'. And then I watch it back - and it does look different on television - and think that was not a 'great', that was a 'less than great'."

Does he know what he's saying? No. Does he know who he's talking to? No. But he's there, and he's gonna give it his best shot.

And he wonders why Angelina Jolie suddenly needs to be somewhere else whenever Ryan lunges at her with his microphone.

After a few years of partial expatriate living, the rumor might be true that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are ready to be American again. 

On Tuesday Angelina was spotted checking out apartments in Manhattan, just a few weeks after signing a $60 million lease on a Long Island mansion.  Because if there's one thing we know about the Jolie-Pitts, it's that they like to live in a few homes at one time. 

But, according to Brad, the glam couple are ready to heed professional advice and stop uprooting their kids for two seconds.  "I've been dragging my kids from continent to continent," he recently told Us Weekly.  "It's time to "give them a break."

But is the move really about the kids, or just Angelina's career?  Clearly given up on her promise to cut back on movies, the actress has to be in New York anyway to film her new thriller Salt.  And with plans for more babies, Brangelina are bound to jet off somewhere new soon.  What would a Brangelina baby be if it was born on American soil?

Cutie pies Shiloh and Zahara Jolie-Pitt stepped out with their Oscar-nominated mother for a shopping expedition in New York. Unlike Suri Cruise, these two actually like going out with moms to shop.

These two kids are so adorable. I love that Zahara looks world-weary, with her little white basket in hand. Like she dares a bitch to try and snatch it out of her hand. And then there's little Shiloh in her skinny black pants. She's not over it just yet.

As for Angie, let's hope she's out shopping for a whole new look to try and shake off her biggest obsessed fan. Jolie should pretend to shave her head and eyebrows, just to see if her little imitator follows suit.

-It's a good thing that Angelia Jolie has a pair on her already, so that will help her prepare for taking over the role originally crafted for Tom Cruise. The Changeling actress is confirmed to star in action film Salt, and Liev Schreiber is reportedly negotiating for a role in the movie as well.

-Salma Hayek believes daughter Valentina Pinault is communing with ghosts in different languages. The curvaceous 30 Rock guest star said she woke up to her little one staring at a fixed point and saying, "No no no no, au revoir." At that point, Salma said, "I was so scared, and I'm like, 'Yes, au revoir, whoever you are, get out!' And then she started saying it in English: 'Bye bye, bye bye!' I guess she was trying in different languages to see what nationality this ghost was to go away."

The purity-ring toting pop trio consisting of Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas were good sports on David Letterman's late night talk show when they each took turns reading the show's infamous top 10 list.



One of the gags had the brothers joking that, "Once a week we get mail for Dr. Joyce Brothers." The number one point on the list was the joke, "A couple years back, Angelina Jolie tried to adopt us."

Oh my Jonas! Look at them being all sassy and stuff. I laughed so hard, I almost busted my chastity belt.
