Avril Lavigne was spotted out at LA hotspot Villa this weekend. Nothing out of the ordinary, except the singer recently canceled 8 concert dates of her tour that has shows scheduled in the United States, Canada, and Europe through August.

A bad case of laryngitis was cited as the cause of the cancellations. Avril wrote on her Web site, "I have been sick this whole tour, and now I have lost my voice. I have never canceled a show in my whole career and just had to for the first time ever. This sux!"

Some of the dates canceled were in late April, but one of the more recent shows was scheduled for May 10 in Everett, Washington. Originally the concert was said to be postponed, but according to a spokeswoman from Live Nation they could not change the tour to make up the missed shows.

How odd to see her out partying just a week later. Anyone else thinking ticket sales might have been an issue?

One suggestion for Avril: get pregnant. It seems to be helping Ashlee and her album at least.

"Muthaf*ckin' princess" Avril Lavigne played a sold-out show in Atlantic City recently, and addressed her recent appearance on Ashton Kutcher's Pop Fuction show. Yeah, I used a "u". She was up to mischief and convinced the world that she was preggers! Imagine that pink-haired stank baby? Avril was her usual whiny self.

"Man, everyone keeps asking me about this! Was it really that big of a deal?" she said. "Ashton approached me and I thought it was a great idea, mostly because I'm often attacked in the media and I don't know why. I have so many positive things in my life right now that I'm just, like, 'Really? Whhhhyy?' [when a negative story appears]."

Because you're annoying and you steal music. When asked how she would run a tabloid, Avril said that she would only run stories "full of nice things." Honey, you better land the shuttle because that doesn't sell. Can you just picture her asking "whhhyy?" through a mouthful of gum and playing with her hair? Isn't she from Canada? How did SARS miss her?

Here's tall goof Ashton Kutcher making like Britney Spears on the set of his new flick. You can play Britney, too. Just get a ciggie, a venti iced coffee and a controlling father to exorcise your panty demons.

Ashton's new foray into television is called Pop Fiction. It's like Punk'd, except that Ashton teams up with celebrities to play jokes on the tabloids by creating situations. It's stupid. If they had something actually hot, like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston punching each other in the street, I would be into it. Instead, it's ridiculous stuff like Avril Lavigne maybe being pregnant and Mario Lopez giving Eva Longoria a necklace. BORING!

The tabloid media at large agrees that it's kinda dumb, because who the hell sympathizes with celebrities? They have money and are impossibly beautiful. It would be a different story if it were poor people with syphilis striking back. One tabloid editor commented on the fact that the tabs know what celebs are up to before they do.

"There's nothing these people do that we don't know about before they get there. We know everything. Ninety percent of their lives are put together by other people. It's almost like these celebs have LoJack. It's easy to track them," he said.

Another weekly editor said, "In Hollywood, anytime anyone decides to be in on the joke and critique themselves, no one cares. It's not having the effect they thought it would. No one can sympathize with celebs. They're always in on it themselves, whether they're pulling the joke or not."

Seriously. And even if they do pull one over on us here at ASL, we're just going to exaggerate it anyway and blow it out of all sorts of proportion for laughs. We write about things like Amy Winehouse rubbing her own urine on her face. Who can tell what's a joke and what's not anymore? Dumbasses.

That chick in the back is acting like she just saw the Virgin Mary hovering over Robertson. Honey, it's just the motherf*ckin' princess, Avril Lavigne. This ain't a visitation at the fountain at Lourdes. Avril Lavigne is publicly commiserating with Britney Spears. Which is odd, because I'm fairly sure I read about her baggin' on her some years back. Even faux-punk twits can have a change of heart!

"No one else has it as hard as Britney,I feel bad for her. How does she even think with all those flashbulbs?" Avril went on to reveal that she's actually commiserating with herself by saying "When I'm being followed, everything's thrown off. They run red lights. They cause accidents. She can't even walk to her car. F*cking stalkers!" It's weird how she pinballs between her and Britney in that statement. Or she's talking about herself in the third person. What? Oh, and on the day these pictures were taken, Avril and husband Deryck Whibley were checking out baby things. So it's entirely possible we're about to have a pink-haired snotty dumbass spitting cranky infant who steals songs on our hands. Despite that, I still think "Sk8er Boy" is a work of genius.
