The cast of the Wizards of Waverly Place rejoiced with a win in the category of children's programming, resulting in an Emmy trophy for its young star, Selena Gomez.

The event, hosted by multiple Emmy award-winner, Kathy Griffin, took place Saturday evening. Tina Fey took home yet another statue, but not for her critically acclaimed prime time television series, 30 Rock.

Instead, the former head writer for Saturday Night Live was awarded for her Sarah Palin sketch, while Justin Timberlake was recognized with a win for hosting the NBC sketch comedy show.

As for the red carpet, everyone looked gorgeous--especially Mary Steenburgen in a strapless, purple dress with cascading layers of fabric and Mary Lynn Rajskub whose elegant blue dress was perfectly accessorized with a seriously hot husband.

There were some incredibly dangerous curves present at the annual British GQ Men of the Year Awards as displayed by such vivacious attendees as Kelly Brook, Eva Mendes and Liz Hurley walking the red carpet in their red carpet finery.

In fact, Kelly's waistline is so ridiculously narrow while her bosom is beyond bouncy that if I find out there's not some seriously constricting Spanx under that bright pink dress, I'm going to be extremely annoyed.

Liz Hurley is electric in a light blue sheath dress and matching eye shadow while Eva Mendes smolders in a deep purple, floor-length dress and impeccable natural-looking make-up.

Meanwhile, young ones, Kelly Osbourne and Lily Allen opted for simple black frocks for the event. They weren't the only ones--Yoko Ono also donned the color, but with a decidedly more playful look that includes a white scarf, top hat and sunglasses.

Boys were there too, with Mickey Rourke sporting his trademark shiny suit, scarf and lots of make-up, God bless him. Also, Guy Ritchie is single and ready to mingle, ladies.

A slew of elegantly dressed soap opera stars and daytime talk show hosts hit the red carpet for this year's Daytime Emmys, looking like they were ready for a long night of celebrating.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres showed off her trademark tomboyish style in a crisp white dress shirt, suspenders and black tuxedo pants while her partner, Portia de Rossi wore a midnight blue off-the-shoulder dress.

Tyra Banks kept it simple and elegant in a pair of neutral-toned heels and matching clutch, simple straight hair parted down the middle and a very flattering coral-colored, asymmetrical sheath dress. Girlfriend was on point.

But Brenda Dickson took the cake, with her flowing red locks, and body-hugging snakeskin dress. Her low-cut, black-lace plunging neckline says, "Welcome to my bosom!"

Tyra Banks has won herself yet another Emmy at this year's Daytime Emmy Awards, as well as Rachael Ray, who snagged the prize in the "entertainment" talk show category. Because our girl Ty-Ty likes to get all investigative reporter and shit, she won the category of "informative" talk show.

Queen of talk, Ellen DeGeneres, has won the award for best talk show host for the past four years, but was unseated from her throne by the ladies from The View, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters. Really?

Speaking of hosts, star of Ugly Betty, Vanessa Williams, took on hosting duties for the evening at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Other awards went to The Bold and The Beautiful for best drama, best male lead to Christian LeBlanc for his role on The Young and the Restless and best female lead to Susan Haskell for her part on One Life To Live.

At the ripe old age of 38, Matt Damon is being honored with a lifetime achievement award. Also known as the American Cinematheque Award, the prize is being presented to Damon and the ceremony will be broadcast during primetime on ABC.

For the past four years, the event has aired on AMC. But in order to keep the awards show from getting lost in the chaos of awards season, the ceremony of Matt accepting his honor in person won't air until March 2010.

Although Damon isn't even forty, his list of film credits is appropriately impressive. And as proof, here are pictures of him working on yet another movie, The Adjustment Bureau. Also, he's good people. Kudos, Matty-boy!

Once again, Billy Ray Cyrus is defending some of his daughter's antics. Earlier this month, singer Miley Cyrus performed a dance routine at the Teen Choice Awards that included some moves on a stripper pole.

Daddy Billy Ray says of his 16-year-old daughter, "I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. She loves singing and songwriting." He adds, "I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they want to make and make it in their own voice. I think it's important."

It's also important for Miley to move into her inevitable "good girl gone bad" phase. If she's not already in the midst of it already.

Tom Cruise got a blow out for this award show! The hair!?! Anyway, Tom Cruise and his hair were present for the 24th Annual Imagen Awards which honor Latino honorees with various awards recognizing their achievement in the community and entertainment industry.

While many of the actors who won awards weren't present (America Ferrera and Ana Ortiz), there were a number of other celebrities who did manage to show. Along with the mentioned Tom Cruise we had Wilmer Valderrama, A Martinez, Andy Garcia, Rudy Reyes, Cesar Milan, Judy Reyes, Jimmy Smits, Talisa Soto, Benjamin Bratt, Emanuel Nunez, Susie Castillo and Carlos Bernard.

It was definitely vest and suit jacket day at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards for the men.

Twlight heartthrob Robert Pattinson wore a shiny suit jacket with a flannel-style button-down (how could he not?) and gray jeans. His New Moon co-star Taylor Lautner also wore gray jeans, but matched them with a gray vest, striped tie and white button-down shirt.

Taylor's fashion twin, Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, also wore grey, but his vest and button-down were blue. Zac Efron, sported a slightly messy hairstyle (I have to say I like the old one better) and wore a plaid top, jeans and sneakers.

The women sparkled on the red carpet at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards!

Kristen Stewart wore a Rock & Republic black romper-style dress with metal detailing over a plain white tank. While Nikki Reed went in a completely different direction wearing a feminine peach-colored dress.

Ashley Tisdale went edgy, pairing her strapless black-and-purple dress with studded peep-toe shoes. Purple seemed to be the choice color of the ladies -- Vanessa HudgensSelena Gomez also wore it, although hers was of a royal shade and cut a softer silhouette. Miley's BFF, , wore a soft violet one-shoulder dress and "The Hills" star Audrina Patridge kept the purple love alive in strapless, rouched minidress.

Miley Cyrus, wore a sparkly, super-short black miniskirt with a plain white tank top, studded belt and lots of bling.
