Kristin Cavallari: 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

In other sparkly news, reality TV star Kristin Cavallari is one of many leggy young starlets who traipsed out to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in a shiny yet tiny dress that showed off a whole lot of skin.

Cavallari pulled back her California blond locks into a sophisticated yet simple updo on the red carpet at Radio City Music Hall.

It seems the biggest accessory this season is a healthy, glowing epidermis.

Chace Crawford: 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

Chace Crawford hits the perfect mix of casual and classic on the red carpet for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. The Gossip Girl star combines a bit of scruff in a suit for his stint as presenter.

Leaving the tie at home and his top button unbuttoned was definitely the right choice for Chace.

Lady Gaga: 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

Considering the intricate costumes she wears on a daily basis, we were hardly surprised at the wacky get-up Lady Gaga is wearing for the red carpet and on stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall.

For her arrival on the red carpet, GaGa opted for a bared only her arms and face in a long, dark dress that included a feather "mane" of sorts around her neck, concealing parts of her face.

During her performance, however, it was a completely different story, as the singer stepped out in a revealing black and white two-piece ensemble and topped off the look with some thigh-high leather go-go boots.

Let's just hope that fake blood isn't the new black.

Madonna: 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

At an awards show where she usually debuted some of her most iconic outfits, 51-year-old, Madonna dressed in a relatively conservative get-up for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, September 13.

With a trim, black suit, a slick half-up, half-down bouffant, Madge cut a stylish figure in a hair and make-up that evokes a very 60s mod look. Truth be told, she might simply have been too tired to wear anything more complicated.

Leighton Meester: 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

Like her Gossip Girl co-star, Taylor Momsen, Leighton Meester is hard at work crafting her red carpet image as an aspiring pop star. She's already got an advantage, with a nomination for Best Pop Video with Cobra Starship for their single, "Good Girls Go Bad."

The actress is clearly more interested in exhibiting a rock star glamorous look, in her metallic mini dress and white, bejeweled sandals at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall.

Her Grecian soldier-looking ensemble is topped off with some heavy eye make-up and a wild mane of dark hair.

Taylor Swift: 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

Looking very old-school Hollywood glamorous, Taylor Swift opted for a long, floor-length, flowing cream-colored dress coupled with a pair of bright red lipstick at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall.

Taylor took to the stage to accept her prize Best Female Video for "You Belong To Me" wearing the classic gown. Her picture-perfect moment would have gone off without a hitch, had it not been for Kanye West running to the stage during Taylor's acceptance speech to interrupt the young country singer.

Swift was speechless as the rapper grabbed her award and took to the mic to say, "Taylor, I'm really happy for you. I'll let you finish. But Beyonce had one of the best videos of
all time...one of the best videos of all time!"

We should have been nervous when he showed up with a bottle of Hennessy in his hand.

Jennifer Lopez: 2009 MTV Video Music Awards

Hitting up the red carpet for the the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall,
Jennifer Lopez appears to be wearing her crooner hubby, Marc Anthony, by her side like some kind of accessory.

The singer/actress opted for a very Barbarella-inspired look with a mini-dress and her hair pulled back in a long, braid and lips pursed. While J.Lo's outfit looks complicated as hell, Marc kept it simple in an all-black ensemble.

In a sizzling, barely-there, sassy red dress, singer Beyonce arrives at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall.

The former Destiny's Child frontwoman has been nominated for nine 2009 MTV Video Music Awards including Video of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" and Best Female Video for "Single Ladies" as well.

Damn! Whether or not you're a fan of Katy Perry's music, it's hard to deny that she's got quite the enviable physique.

The singer usually dresses up her outfits with giant, fruity accessories, but it seems that for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in NYC, Ms. Perry is wearing little more than the sparkly, silver mini-dress with matching high heels. The singer is nominated for 2009 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Female Video for "Hot 'N Cold."
