John Mayer Blogs About Hope

On a post John Mayer wrote for the Huffington Post, he starts off by waxing poetic about 9/11 and how much it affected him personally.

Mayer laments that "to wait in line for 23 years only to have the 'sorry, future canceled' sign flipped in my face was depressing." Huh? Isn't that pretty much when his career took off like a rocket? And now he's banging Jennifer Aniston, so I'd say he's doing a hell of a lot better than most of us.

In a roundabout way, he finally gets to the point of announcing his support for Barack Obama and encouraging people to vote for him come election day. You know it killed him not to be able to write, "And by the way, I'm TOTALLY DOING IT WITH JENNIFER ANISTON! SCORE!"

Hayden Panettiere Shops, Campaigns & Gives Wake Up Calls

Even though Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, she feels that Senator John McCain has been receptive to the issue most near and dear to her heart--the environment.

Hayden said that McCain "is much more environmentally friendly than I think a lot of the Republicans," which the politically active star found encouraging. She also said she wouldn't mind paying high taxes to help out those less fortunate, since she earns quite a bit of money.

And enjoying the fruits of her hard work is just what she's doing here while out shopping at the Sherman Oaks boutique Rumor. You can see her tattoo peeking out in certain shots.

Oh yeah, and even though we've already seen it "unofficially," here's Hayden's music video for her single "Wake Up Call," now that it's been officially released.

Matt Damon Stumps For Obama

Busy daddy Matt Damon took a break from hanging out with the kids to take it to South Florida to campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Joining the ranks of fellow celebrity supporters for this ticket, Damon hit up the University of Miami campus to encourage students to vote.

Rallying the crowd, Matt asked the group of students, "I came from the middle class, I grew up as a proud member of the middle class. Remember when we used to have a middle class?"

I'm still struggling to remember when we weren't at war.

Jennifer Hudson Offers Reward For Nephew

In an effort to recover her missing nephew Julian King, Jennifer Hudson and her family are offering a $100,000 reward for his safe return. According to the statement released by Hudson's publicist, any information related to King's location should be communicated to the Chicago Police Department, Area 1 Detective Division.

King has been missing since Friday, on the same day that the bodies of Hudson's mother and brother were discovered. Authorities believe the murders are the result of a domestic dispute and a suspect is in custody. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has reached out to Hudson and her family in a statement.

Michelle and I were absolutely heartbroken to learn about this unimaginable tragedy, and we want Jennifer to know that she is in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. We also pray for the swift and safe return of her young nephew.

Hudson performed the National Anthem for the Democratic National Convention after she was requested to do so by Obama.

News Bites: Michelle Williams Gets Handsy

-Giving cutie Suri Cruise a run for her money, part-time princess Matilda Ledger and her mother Michelle Williams took a hand-in-hand stroll through their Brooklyn neighborhood while Matilda enthusiastically gestured in a cold weather get-up. Leaving a recent party for their film Synecdoche, New York, Michelle was spotted walking out of the event holding hands with director Spike Jonze.

-Colin Powell has disappointed the Republican party by announcing that he supports Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama for President. According to the former Bush cabinet member and retired Army general, "He knows, as we do, that this is a moment where we need to come together as one nation--young and old, rich and poor, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Republican and Democrat."

-According to The Sun, Guy Ritchie is getting a whopping $60 million from his "beastly" future ex-wife Madonna. That should help soften the blow of being "emotionally retarded."

Justin Timberlake Sings For Your Vote, Swings For Kids

Golf-loving pop singer Justin Timberlake recently showed up at a rally with girlfriend Jessica Biel to encourage young voters to vote for Barack Obama. Here's a video of Justin using his musical talents to get the word out while Jessica...avoids dancing.

In addition to his political pursuits, Justin also took some time out to host the PGA Tour's Vegas stop at the TPC Summerlin for the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

It's moments like these that remind me how similar Britney's exes Justin and Kevin Federline really are. Both of them golf. JT does it to support a children's charity and Kevin does it using child-support. The similarities are uncanny.

Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel: Democrats In Love

International lovebirds Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake hit up the "Last Chance for Change" rally to support democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Held at the Clark County Amphitheater in Vegas, the event was a grass roots "get out the vote" effort. Timberlake told the group that had gathered, "I'm not here to tell you what to think but I urge you to think. I'm supporting Barack Obama because I'm inspired by him, by his voice, his intellect, his leadership and his judgement."

Blah, blah, politics. Look, Timberlake, are you two engaged or what?

Brad Pitt Takes Barack Obama For A Bike Ride

From New York City to New Orleans in the blink of an eye! Brad Pitt was spotted riding his bike around New Orlean today, looking like the hipster or somebody's old uncle about town.

He was carrying a black hardbound book with Barack Obama's (a distant cousin) picture on it. Does this mean that his companion Angelina Jolie has finally thrown her support behind one of our presidential candidates? She was being famously clothes-mouthed about which candidate that she was supporting. And they weren't sure they wanted HER at first. Fools!

You know Brad doesn't make a move without her go-ahead, so could it be the impossibly beautiful savior of man for Obama for the win?

Brandon Routh Wants You To Vote, And Possibly Get Him A Job

Who? Brandon Routh is the dude who played Superman in that really bad remake with all the religious overtures. The one where they introduced Super Baby? Ugh, it was so bad. Superman as Gay Jesus and Kate Bosworth looking like sexless lips on a stick.

Anyway, in lieu of acting jobs, Routh was stumping for Barack Obama by making six appearances across Iowa. He's boring. He should have at least worn the cape and apologized for the movie to make things interesting. Or at least in this bodysuit.
