The comedian took to the pulpit in front of the crowd of famous faces. Sykes teased President Barack Obama about the numerous shirtless pictures of him in the media, his basketball games and managed to touch upon issues of race and politics with an edge that only Wanda can deliver.

Girlfriend did not pull any punches and I'm not doing them justice here in this blog post. You'll have to watch them for yourselves.

It was an impressive array of celebrities in the audience, but none whose smiles were bigger than the President and First Lady Michelle Obama.

As if it's not enough for these folks to be given kudos in a splashy Time magazine cover and article that explains exactly why they're the 100 most influential people in the world, they all get to enjoy a big party celebrating that fact. But that's OK, because I guess they've earned it. Or at least I know my girl Suze Orman has.

Among those listed, new talk show host Jimmy Fallon was all smiles in his trim tuxedo, Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg represented for The View. They even let Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck show up to play with the big girls.

And Claire Danes was psyched to be there. But not enough to give us a second peek at her nipple. Too bad.

At a party for the world's most easily influenced people: Ali Lohan. Kidding! But for reaslies. She's mighty impressionable.

Scheduling conflicts kept Travolta family friends Oprah Winfrey and Tom Cruise from being able to attend the funeral of the late son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston. In fact, Tom was in New York being interviewed on The View.

On the show today, the ladies talked with Tom about his reaction to the death of 16-year-old Jett Travolta. Describing the situation as "horrific," Cruise told Barbara Walters, "I just don't have the words for it."

During the program, Tom said, "I remember Jett when he was born. I saw him when he was just a few months old and John just adored him, and both of his children, and Kelly."

-Actor Patrick Swayze recently opened up to Barbara Walters about his ongoing battle with pancreatic cancer for an ABC special airing on Wednesday. He admits that he's scared of the future. There's a lot of fear here," Swayze, 56, star of A&E's upcoming The Beast says. "There's a lot of stuff going on. Yeah, I'm scared. Yeah, I'm angry. Yeah, I'm [asking] why me," he goes on. "Yeah, I'm all this stuff. You can bet that I'm going through hell." Patrick Swayze is a tough bastard and he's not going anywhere. We support him fully and send good thoughts towards his recovery.

-Pink's not over her ex-husband Carey Hart, but she is. Huh? "It's up and down," she told Seventeen magazine (Tyra Mail!). "You have strong moments, and you have weak moments. But it's not just been devastating - it's been freedom, too. I told him that I would give him away at his next wedding." Yeah, she's over him.

-Mariah Carey is rumored to have been paid at least a million dollars to sing FOUR SONGS at Salf Khadafy's (son of some important Libyan, scary last name) New Year's Eve party at the Nikki Beach Club in St. Bart's. By the way, Beyonce and Jay-Z were there and loving it up. "I've never seen Jay and Beyoncé having such a good time," says a spy. "They were hugging and waving their arms. It was out of control." a source says. They were probably trying to rip Mariah off the stage so B-Day could sing. Egos.

During an interview with Barbara Walters on the longtime journalist's Sirus XM radio show, Paula Abdul claims that it was American Idol producers who pushed to have Paula Goodspeed on the show.

Abdul said that she immediately recognized Paula as her stalker, who had been writing "disturbing letters for 17 years, almost 18 years." The Idol judge protested vehemently against allowing the potential contestant against whom Abdul had multiple restraining orders, to audition for the show. However, the "entertainment value" proved to be too good for producers to pass up.

After her unsuccessful audition, Goodspeed began sending Abdul letters that threatened bodily harm and included nude pictures of herself. It was when Goodspeed followed Abdul home after Idol auditions that she was able to ascertain Abdul's home address, where she ultimately took her own life.

Taking a cue from Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, Rosie O'Donnell has struck back in reaction to Barbara Walters' comments via a YouTube video directed towards the former co-host on The View.

Although Babs didn't make a point of naming names, her comment of, "So if the shoe fits, lady--ladies--get on with your lives," was generally assumed to be directed at both Rosie and Star Jones.

On Wednesday, the day before Barbara's shout-out on The View, Rosie said of her former co-hostst during promotion of her upcoming variety special, "I'm not saying they loathe each other, but the fact of the matter is there was not a lot of camaraderie off camera."

-E! reports that recently engaged  'Girl Next Door' Kendra Wilkinson will also be joining Heidi Montag, her idiot partner Spencer Pratt, and Kim Kardashian in a guest appearance on a January episode of CBS' How I Met Your Mother. The storyline seems to involve Jason Segel's character's reading material in the bathroom. He should just bring his laptop and read our site. 1/2 the people we write about are going to be on the show.

-The brother of deceased American Idol auditioner Paula Goodspeed says that she was not stalking Paula Abdul, according to E!. Charles McIntyre, who lives with the rest of Goodspeed's family in Oakland, refutes claims by law enforcement  that Goodspeed was stalking AI judge Abdul and was mentally ill. He even claims Goodspeed had coffee with Adbul at a restaurant in 2005.  "She was not a stalker," McIntyre said. "She went down there to have a career, and when she went down in front of those American Idol judges, it was over," he added. "She was just like anyone else, trying to make it big as an actor or singer." Goodspeed's body was found in her car outside of Abdul's residence on Tuesday night, dead of an apparent suicide/drug overdose.

-Us reports that "the pregnant man" Thomas Beatie is once again with child. Barbara Walters confirmed the news on The View today, and showed footage from an upcoming interview with the transgender Beatie to air on 20/20 on Friday. His daughter June with wife Nancy was born in June. Beatie is reportedly in his first trimester. What makes him think his pregnancy is any less boring than anyone else's? You already gave birth once, the novelty is over!

-Britney Spears and her legal team are doing their best to get the pop star cleared of her charges related to a hit-and-run incident. Claiming that the "Oops" singer isn't yet ready to stand trial, Michael Flanagan requested a stay in the proceedings. "[Spears] is currently unable to participate meaningfully in this matter," he writes, citing her current conservatorship.

-Elisabeth Hasselbeck is frustrated with the political leanings of her co-stars on the View during this presidential election. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the bubbly blonde is upset. However, the source revealed, "It's not as bad as during the Rosie [O'Donnell] era." Bad...don't you mean glorious?

-Jessica Szohr of Gossip Girl is making like a real-life Manhattan socialite, caught mixing and mingling with Roberta Armani, Zani Gugelman and model Eugenia Silva at Bagatelle, says Page Six. The $3,000 tab racked up by the table was picked up by the mystery man who flirted with the CW star all night.

Another excuse for getting all dolled up (no California casual allowed) besides awards shows is going to the opera. And some fancy-looking celebs got dry-cleaned, pressed and ready to go to the opening of the 125th Metropolitan Opera opening night.

Taylor Momsen had a gown that was a lovely shade of red and some lipstick to match. Now, if we could just get her breasts properly secured and a hairstyle that works, I'd be a happy blogger. Way to represent for Gossip Girl at the Met again, Tay-Tay.

As much as I love the color purple and the woman herself, Helen Mirren looked a little too Old West brothel for my liking in her outfit. Maybe if she would have lost the Barney-colored jacket, we'd be good. She's usually the hotness on a stick. Christine Baranski on the other hand, looked fabulous in her black and white ensemble that showed off her long legs.

Barbara Walters represented in a turquoise gown and shawl and some diamonds, y'all. Sparkle, sparkle little newslady. Loves it. And Juliana Margulies was also divine in her black gown, caught text-messaging her babysitter for the evening at the second intermission. But wow, Helena Christensen looked like a goddess in her light-gold dress. Work it, supermodel.
