Actor/director Robert Redford is dishing all the dirt in his upcoming book, Robert Redford: The Biography. In the tome, Redford dishes that a 13-year-old Scarlett Johansson was difficult to direct on the set of their 1998 film together, The Horse Whisperer.

As Redford tells it, it was Johansson's overbearing mother who was the source of the discord and ScarJo's "constant back talk," according to a source who dished to the New York Daily News. Although Redford gives the actress credit for her talent, a crew member confesses that Scarlett's mother's vision for the film clashed with Robert's.

As for Barbra Streisand, Robert's co-star in The Way We Were, she was perhaps too fond of the red-headed star. The brother of Redford's first wife explains, "She had a hard time controlling her emotions, and when she played scenes with him--like the fireside courtship scene at Malibu--she was drooling." However, "Bob was very tactful."

But really, can you blame her?

Actor Morgan Freeman, bandmates from The Who, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend, choreagrapher / dancer Twyla Tharp, country singer George Jones and singer and actress Barbra Streisand comprised the group of honorees who received Kennedy Center Honors at Pennsylvania Avenue.

Beyoncé Knowles looked like a curvaceous Aubrey Hepburn with her hair deftly piled atop her head in a sleek bouffant. But the best part of that is that she was in attendance at the same event as fellow diva Streisand. Later in the evening, you know they stared each other down from each end of the red carpet and had a wig-off.

But let us not forget that the original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter was in attendance as well. Knowles has expressed an interest in taking on the role, but I would guess that Carter can probably still squeeze her tush into those red pantaloons. Girlfriend is well-preserved.

Barbra Streisand is taking a hands-on approach to her newly-renovated Malibu estate by picking up and placing the last potted bush in its final resting spot. After years of expanding their home, it looks like Babs and her husband, James Brolin, are nearly done. That is the craziest kind of rich--building an entirely new house next door to the one you already have so you can meld them into a monster house of luxury.

If I didn't know who this was, I would have assumed these were pictures from a few days ago of Punxsutawney Phil crawling out of his hole and I don't know whether or not he saw his shadow, but quite frankly, the sight of THIS would be enough to make me go running scared.

Does anyone ever tell this heifer "no"? Does she do that much for the local economy? Reports from London where she's on tour indicate that Barbra Streisand is still the demanding hammerhead that she's always been. She likes the color "peach". A lot.

Peach-coloured toilet roll to match her complexion, and rose petals in the toilet bowl. One hundred-and-twenty designer bathroom towels also in peach. Ten highly specified designer floor lamps.

And that's before we get to the insistence that the security team wear 'neat dark sweaters' and use metal detectors.

Rose petals in the toilet bowl makes no sense to me. They're going to get messed up no matter how nice they might look at first. 125 towels? Does she get that sweaty? Damn, that's a lot of terrycloth. Who gets to wring those out?You know some yenta on the Upper West Side would pay bank for a quart of Babs sweat. Ugh, that was gross.

In response to the uproar in Italy over exorbitant ticket prices, Barbra Streisand has decided to nix a concert performance in Rome. Italian consumer groups cried foul at the ticket prices for the Rome concert originally scheduled for June 15th, stating that selling seats for between $200 to $1,200 was "absurd and shameful." The groups were hoping to raise enough ruckus to have Streisand suspended from using the stadium where the performance was to be held. And it sounds like Streisand and her peeps decided to forgo the concert altogether.

"We met with unexpected production delays," said a statement by tour promoter Michael Cohl posted on the Web site of Milano Concerti, the Italian organizer of the event.

"We deeply apologize to the fans in Rome," Cohl said in the statement, adding that ticket holders would be refunded and given the opportunity to book a spot for one of Streisand's other European concerts.

And in other news, I've somehow remembered to spell her name correctly today. You're welcome, Babs.

Does this woman toss gold doubloons into the crowd between songs? Because that is the only way I'd be willing to pay the amount she's requesting for a concert ticket. Barbara Streisand tickets are selling for up to nearly $1000 a pop for her show London's O2 Arena on July 18 ,the first UK concert she's done in 13 years. Apparently, the least expensive tickets are going for almost $200. Compare that to the most expensive seats for the Rolling Stones this summer at Twickenham at around $300. Prices for tickets to see uber-diva, Madonna, on her "Confessions" tour ranged from about $160 to $320.

But a spokesman for the double Oscar winner said: "Seeing Barbra Streisand in concert is a momentous occasion that ranks with seeing Sinatra or Elvis."

Her US tour broke box-office records.

This just confirms what I've always thought to be true. Old people are crazy.

Barbra Streisand, who has supported the campaigns of both President Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton in the past, has now donated the maximum amount allowed to three Democratic candidates for the upcoming presidential election. Babs released a statement via her publicist, Dick Guttman, in response to her donations.

"Because I want to see the front-runners have the financial backing they need to be competitive during this process, I've decided to make the maximum allowable primary donation to Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama," Streisand said in the statement, adding, "As the conversation continues, I may make contributions to other candidates as well."

Ah, voting. The only reason I consistently end up with jury duty.

After a recent visit with a medium, Barbra Streisand believes that she received a message from her deceased father. From FemaleFirst.co.uk:

She revealed to The Globe newspaper: "We met with the woman, and, let me tell you, the table moved.

"You start writing letters, 'A, B, C, D, E, F, G...' and the table leg lifts when you get the right one.

"It spelled, 'M-A-N'. So we asked, 'Is it Manny?

"Then it spelled 'B-A-R', you know... a message for Barbra. And the message was the simplest word - 'Sorry'."

Unfortunately, Barbra didn't stay long enough to get the full message, which continued with, "...this medium is ripping you off because this is a bunch of bullshit. And, I love you."
