Clearly, the couple consisting of Jessica Simpson and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo are Texas football fans. But we had no idea they were supporters of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team. The twosome showed up at the Staples center yesterday to watch the Lakers beat the Orlando Magic 100-74, along with a host of other celebrity fans.

A more familiar set of famous faces included staunch Laker fans Jack Nicholson, Anthony Kiedis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Penny Marshall and Tobey Maguire. In fact, it's rumored that Nicholson's movie shooting schedules are required to accomodate the Lakers basketball season. And that's how he's had nearly perfect attendance at their games for over three decades.

Now that's a man who doesn't have a problem with commitment.

At least these two can laugh about their troubles with women. Samantha Ronson is taking her breakup from Lindsay Lohan in stride, engaging in some entertaining banter over coffee with her buddy Benji Madden.

At least, I'm pretty sure that's Paris Hilton's ex, Benji. I have trouble keeping those boys straight, if Nicole Richie's not around. They should have to wear name tags or something.

I like to imagine that Sam is cracking up over Benji telling her, "Women, eh? Can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em! Am I right?" Later on, high-fives ensued.

Maternity designer Nicole Richie showed off her growing baby bump last night while attending a benefit for the Richie-Madden Foundation and UNICEF in Los Angeles.  Boho-chic as ever in her satin dress with funky straps and an arm band, the expectant mother wore wavy hair and a tranquil smile.  Ah, the maternity glow. 

Some people actually believe there's room inside that miniature body for TWO babies, so of course there's a twins rumor.  Not another in vitro addict, please!  The rumors are probably as true as Lindsay Lohan's latest sobriety promise, but the Richie-Maddens seem more concerned with joking about than dismissing them. 

"She already has twins,' Benji teased last night while being (in his opinion) terribly witty.  Then Nicole added, "I have twins. People popped out of me yesterday."  I hope you didn't just spit out your lunch due to uncontrollable laughter.  She's a regular comedian, that one.  Almost as funny as Dane Cook.

The crappy thing about being an on-the-rise pop star looking to get a drunken piece from anything breathing (Paris Hilton's ex, Benji Madden, specifically) are nosey people like us who post pictures and write stuff about it.

Katy Perry has taken to her tumblr blog to refute said pictures and images, and clear up any rumors about her "boozy Valentines" where she was NOT "bumping uglies" with Benji.

"oh kittens! It's two pseudo famous people sitting next to each other... doesn't mean we were bumping uglies! You know I don't just do that with anyone! That's just how the media works, as you can tell. I was there celebrating a really fun show and a boozy valentines with all my good friends. We were like a group of 25! Benji is a nice young fellow, but my heart really belongs to kitty purry/markus molinari. Hope your vagina day was as FUN as mine. Definitely not too heart breaking :)"

While our fragile minds would rather not travel down the dark and trepidatious mental image road of Katy Perry and Benji Madden "bumping uglies" (ewwww) what's up with all this "oh kittens!" "kitty purry" and "vagina day" references?

I think Kitty Purry is trying to tell us something.

At the Hard Rock Hotel's Wasted Space, Katy Perry bounded up on stage in a ballerina-tutu-looking dress and told the audience that she was performing for them on "the horror that is Valentine's Day."

Despite her complaint, it seems like Katy was enjoying her single status when she mixed and mingled with Paris Hilton's ex Benji Madden. According to People magazine, the two "conspicuously cuddled thoughtout the night" at Lavo.

Ugh, really? Rebounding with Paris Hilton's sloppy seconds? Why not just lick a train station hand rail? It would be more hygenic.

The romance of our generation, Paris Hilton and Benji Madden, ended a few months ago but it seems both are licking their wounds by licking others -- and in Paris' case, licking just about anything.

Apparently, Audrina Patridge has washed her self-tanned hands of Justin Bobby for good and has moved on to Benji Madden. The New York Daily News reports that "sources say Benji has upped his friendship with Audrina Patridge to "relationship" status in the last two weeks."

Relationship status? This sounds like a Facebook thing. Bet it is. LC and Audrina probably squealed in delight when they stalked Benji's page and saw the "In A Relationship."

P. Hilt on the other hand is either sucking face with MySpace founder Chris DeWolfe, David Maisel, chairman of Marvel Studios (who used his connections to get her into that CAA Golden Globes party where she hid in the bathroom to avoid getting kicked out) or LC's ex Doug Reinhardt. Or possibly all of them. At the same time.

Let's just hope everyone's being safe here. Nobody wants to see the sloppy and unprotected outcome of this fame-whoring Hollyweird heptagon.

Aside from the A-listers who provided entertainment for the big event, the Super Bowl parties this year appeared lacking in a certain star quality.

Reality television stars were in full force, no doubt, but beyond that there were only a handful of celebrities who showed up to what is usually a splashy, over-the-top Hollywood celebration. Noticeably absent were Fergie, Jermaine Dupri, Sean Combs and Mario Lopez, all of whom had been expected to attend the Maxim pre-party.

At the ESPN The Magazine party, Lindsay Lohan "looked bored" pausing in between sips of Red Bull to say hello to Christian Slater before returning to her seat on a white leather couch. Really? She couldn't just amuse herself by sitting and chatting with MC Hammer and/or the special-looking Madden brothers?

Here's a look at the couples who just couldn't make the love last in 2008.

Crackheads (let's not mince words) Amy Winehouse and husband Blake Fielder-Civil seemed like two junkies that had it all. But when Fielder-Civil decided not to inform his beloved that he would be spending the remainder of his 27 month prison sentence in a rehab facility, the crack rock split. A German model also allegedly had something to do with the end of their drug love. Winehouse reportedly refused to pay for his rehab, and began telling people that they were over. Fielder-Civil failed a drug test and was sent back to the pokey.

VD factory Paris Hilton and the less charming of the Madden brothers (and that's saying something) Benji ended their nine-month relationship last month because the general public public just couldn't take having to stomach the image of the two of them having sex anymore.

Brooding actor Ryan Gosling and his go-to girl Rachel McAdams ended it AGAIN this year. The Notebook stars got back together this summer for another try and were photographed having a kissy breakfast in Canada. Apparently they can't get their schedules to gel, or they realized that after the sex is over they really hate each other.

Boring piece of toast Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood, and the young actress he transformed into his ex-wife Dita Von Teese, ended whatever the creepy Lolita/"I can't get over my ex-wife" thing they had going on. Supposedly, he was too controlling, but Wood said that wasn't the case.

Anne Hathaway had to jettison her boyfriend of four years, Rafaello Follieri, after she realized the Feds were on to his highly illegal investment scheme. She did it right before he got pinched because dumping a guy in an orange jumpsuit seems kind of cruel.

And the biggest split of all this year had to have been between Madonna and Guy Ritchie in October. The public at large saw it coming. They were married for close to eight years and you could see how much living with her was slowly draining the life out of him. The 76 million should serve to rejuvenate him, though.

- Here's Chris Brown signing DVDs for a charity fundraiser at the Tappahanock Children's Center in Tappahanock, Virginia. And he was just in Paris over the weekend. That's his mom Joyce with him. She probably called his ass back hime. "Christopher, you have an obligation. Now put the glowsticks down, tell RiRi you will see her in a day or two, and get your ass down here." Anyway, nice work, Brown.

- Britney Spears is NOT dating Paris Hilton's old shoe Benji Madden. "The claims made by In Touch are completely false," her rep says. "There is not an ounce of truth to any of it." Supposedly Brit's dad Jamie and manager Larry Rudolph were auditioning dudes for her or something equally twisted. Babysteps, guys.

- Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell has revealed that his six-year-old son Baylee has been diagnosed with atypical Kawasaki disease, which "causes inflammation in the coronary arteries as well as the walls of the small and medium sized arteries throughout the body." Ugh, poor kid. Littrell writes that he will be watched closely for the next six to eight weeks by a pediatric cardiologist.
