Scruffy Brad Pitt Continues To 'Make It Right'

While at the 2009 Clinton Initiative, Brad Pitt took the opportunity to apprise those in attendance of the progress made in rebuilding New Orleans post-Katrina.

The Inglourious Basterds star went on to say of his Make It Right foundation in New Orleans, "We demanded that these homes be sustainable, that they have aesthetic qualities...that they be storm resilient and take safety in mind of the families who live there and that they would be affordable."

As of yet, the organization has built 13 homes in the 9th Ward of the city, each of which has incorporated eco-friendly components like solar panels in order to minimize utility payments.

Make It Right has set its goal of building 150 homes by next year, one which Brad hopes to meet.

Brad Pitt Gives Update On Katrina At Clinton Global Initiative

Brad Pitt is doing a lot of good in New Orleans, and he took to the Clinton Global Initiative to give us an update.

"I don't know how we build any other way anywhere else," he said. "We can no longer tell ourselves that implementing this technology is too complex a problem because it's just been proven on this little spot on the map."

Pitt started the foundation in 2007. The program focuses home construction in a section of New Orleans heavily damaged when Hurricane Katrina struck in August 2005. The homes are being built with features including rooftop solar panels and energy-efficient appliances to help reduce electricity consumption.

Pitt and Angelina Jolie also live in New Orleans part-time.

Laura Ling & Euna Lee Back In The U.S.

Bill Clinton scores!

Clinton, returning from North Korea, accompanied accompanied by the two American journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, whose release he secured five months after they were captured on the border with China.

In a joint statement, the families of the journalists said they were ''overjoyed by the news of their pardon''.

''We especially want to thank (former) president Bill Clinton for taking on such an arduous mission and (former) vice-president Al Gore for his tireless efforts to bring Laura and Euna home,'' they said.

''We must also thank all the people who have supported our families through this ordeal -- it has meant the world to us. We are counting the seconds to hold Laura and Euna in our arms.''

Ling's father, Doug, told CNN: ''I'm elated. This is one of the happiest days of my life. I knew something positive was going to happen, and it happened.

''I'm very thankful for the Government for doing all they can to gain the release.''

What amazing news. Give Bill a cigar. Oh wait, maybe not such a good idea.

Robert Pattinson Charges $20,000 Per Kiss

If you've ever wondered how much it would cost to get a kiss from a vampire, Robert Pattinson has put a price tag on that shit and is selling it to raise money for amFAR's annual Cinema Against AIDS event in Cannes.

An auction for kisses from the 23-year-old Twilight star resulted in two bidders paying $20,000 for a single smooch from the bed-head-sporting star. But just as quickly as he was appeared, he's now gone. The actor has now made his way to Italy, where production for New Moon is taking place.

Of his first time at the Cannes Film Festival, RPattz told People magazine, "I'm been working every day this week so it's pretty exhausting, but it's just as glamorous as I expected." Let's hope the kisses turn out as glamorous as expected.

2009 Life Balls Celebrates Life, Raises Money For AIDS Research

Katy Perry took the opportunity to perform at the 17th annual Life Ball 2009 at the Rathausplatz in Vienna, Austria to bust out yet another costume for the event. The singer donned a shell-themed ensemble and was lowered down to the stage à la The Birth of Venus.

Married couple, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, proved that they enjoy attending charitable events on the other side of the Atlantic as much as they do here in L.A.

Pam Anderson actually looked quite amazing all dressed up in gold lame, her hair teased to high heaven and a gold boom box propped up on her shoulder. It's so hit or miss with this one.

Jonas Brothers Rocked 2009 New Years Eve Times Square Celebration

Teenage sensation the Jonas Brothers thrilled the crowds in New York City's Times Square, many of whom had traveled from across the country. Former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton embraced after helping Mayor Michael Bloomberg lower the ball atop 1 Times Square for the 60-second countdown to midnight.

Dick Clark hosted his annual event, but wasn't looking so great. Between the stroke a couple years ago and all the plastic surgery he has had, it was unsettling to see him. Ryan Seacrest co-hosted, and we can only him expect to look like Dick in about 50 years.

Featured in the gallery: Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton, Lionel Richie, Michael Bloomberg, Ryan Seacrest and Ludacris.

Bono Chastises Wall Street At Clinton Philanthropy Summit

Even though I've been doing my best to ignore the current financial crisis that has prompted President George Bush to suggest a funding a bailout plan consisting of $700 billion worth of U.S. taxpayer dollars, a celebrity speaking out on the matter has burst my little cozy bubble. Because if a celebrity ain't saying it, I ain't hearing it!

Brangelina godfather Bono spoke at the fourth annual Bill Clinton global initiative and expressed his frustration with political priorities of the U.S. government, "It is extraordinary to me that you can find $700 billion to save Wall Street and the entire G8 can't find $25 billion to save 25,000 children who die every day of preventable treatable disease and hunger," the U2 singer said.

It looks like this was an event that had celebrities mixing and mingling with politicos, with Al Gore, Gossip Girl fan Drew Barrymore, John McCain, Sarah Palin and Wyclef Jean in attendance.
